Time to get her on the rollers!

Looking at the graph, peak power at 6400 could not be right it should just climb pretty quickly at that point. It also says 105whp at 7k rpm so this shows he eased off very early and id say he did indeed start easing off at 6400 rpm hence a very low figure. Any one else agree with this?

He was determined not to get 300 as we did go at it in an arguement over it. He was for having none of it in belief that a car like this could make that kinda power. I actually thought at one stage he wasnt going to attempt it. It was also roasting in the dyno area

If i was you i would take the car to a known good tuner and have the ignition map tweaked on the rollers by them and get a power run after on the day. If not then even just try another RR that people on here have recommended nearby to you.

i would love chris to do.

the thing is im in the middle of the sticks with no real known dynos out there. The other closest in ava turbo though i havnt heard to much about them.

Firstly there was a common and very easy mistake that was made. He proceeded to ask you what power you expect it to make ... never ever tell him what you expect, he will setup the Rolling Road to give you the figure you desire to let you leave satisfied.

As soon as he said "this car will never make 300" i wouldve taken it straight off the Dyno and went elsewhere, the guy is clearly a tit and has no idea what he is talking about.

Also those figures arent so bad, he only used 6400 on the rev range, a TD05's power will still be climbing right up until the rev limiter.

20degrees isnt so bad, its around 17degrees down here in Greenock at the moment so im assuming Aberdeen cant be far off it, especially with it being indoors.

Take it down to Dastek at Dalgaty Bay. Dastek Rolling Road in a confined room with a massive suction system that doesnt allow the room to heat up. Its around £70quid iirc for a Rolling Road.

thanks mate for input,

yeah there was a bust up atween us at first he did three runs all making about 213 at wheels mark and i told him im not happy with that figure and he then proceeded to tell me the rpm was incorrect so he adjusted it. then after that he did one run and it was the 237 at the wheels he then turned everything off and printed me out the 213 one i said can i have the last one he was almost trying to hide it.

i think im gonna have to try somewhere else.

Lol stranraer ftw!
I'd never use AVA after the trouble a few mates have had (bucketep91 on here for 1)
we'll get a Scottish dyno day organised soon, I know a guy in Ayrshire which would be kinda central if folk from both north and south of Scotland were interested.

Use AVA Turbo and ill come along if you want, its only up the Road from me and i know Alan the owner and some of the lads. So i know for a fact they wont bullshit you. They built a GT advance thats running around 280bhp, i think its in Stirling now.

Yes he sounds like a complete wanker. As i say, the fact he has denied you of your figure immediately says it all to me, AVA only record in WHP, they'll tell you a figure if you are persistant that they THINK if FWHP but tbh FWHP means nothing, Its all about WHP as FWHP can be calculated with any figure of the Dyno controllers desire.

Anytime apart from Friday really as im going down South to drop off an engine. Ill just work it into one of my days, its no hassel. I think its £40 for a power run, £60 for a setup, i.e they tweek your boost controller etc.

They only print off WHP, dont have a torque reading or AFR etc. AFR is monitored as the car is on the Rolling Road but just isnt recorded in the graph.

there is no way that power figure is right dude - the guy sounds like a twat and he clearly took a disliking to you and your car - get it to a reputable tuner and just let them do what they do and say you dont know how much power it will make. . . . . . .

1. 5 bar on a td05 should be up around 300 bhp easy

edit: specially with cams and headwork ffs !!!!!

Boy seems like a complete twat, take the car else where and go from there.

As for numbers, trust me dont pay attention to numbers from dynos, there a tuning tool and a bullshit number "thrower outer"

Its how it goes that matters ;)

My last RR my car made 234 hp at 1.4 bar, which is complete shite as i know it makes more on the road (where it was mapped)

was that at hypertech? I was there lol
a Honda s2000 with a spoon exhaust only made 212bhp and they're like 240 stock and a Glanza made 120 odd bhp with mods lol

chin up, try not to swallow any of the poo this guy was obviously shovelling.

get a dyno agreed with iain/rory or whoever knows reputable ones, and go along and get her done(no arguments beforehand mind) and see who see goes.

i know chris spent forever on the td04 maps with me, i dont know just how long he was at the td05, but im sure it would be making a heck of a lot more than that even if it was just a very basic tune.

Sorry to hear about ur bad experiance with the garage mate.. Just out of curiousity what timing are u running?

Coz if u ask me ur running with a little to much retard... which will cause all the problems uv mentioned through this post..

if i where u id get it remapped & take it somewhere else, oh and ask them if they can give u an a/f printout from the dyno as well :)
