really nice alan, its impressive how the mx5 was made with a nice accessable place for a turbo to fit in easily, almost like they meant it. cant wait to see it.

Hey alan,
some questions for a mate,
Is that the 1.6 eunos? or the 1.8?
How much would it cost to go TD04(manifold,downpipe,oil/water lines.could source the turbo himself)
I take it its just pipe you had lying around you used, nothing fancy for the turbo to inlet?
What pressure can the stock internals hold (with fmic or tmic)
What kind of management is used, greddy piggybacks?
And the blitz filter,i take it you can't bypass the airflow meter in anyway?

Cheers

@ Dan, thats mad how close the turbo is to the block - the gas is literally passed straight to the turbo!

I do have the trust cooler, which will no doubt go on as the boost hikes!

lol yea i know is awsome , get like no lag atall :p its a begi manifold and downpipe and it only cost me 120 for both, made form cast too.

when do you get posotive boost on the t28?

Hey alan,
some questions for a mate,
Is that the 1.6 eunos? or the 1.8? - its an 1800 retrofitted to an na6, with na6 management using the Flyin miata method

How much would it cost to go TD04(manifold,downpipe,oil/water lines.could source the turbo himself) - ive no Idea but ebay might! instead look for T flanged manis, as T series garrets are abundant, and a disco potato would be unreal on one.

I take it its just pipe you had lying around you used, nothing fancy for the turbo to inlet? - its all intercooler pipe from autobahn 88, the flanged ends of the pipe are really big, hence where it rides up over and looks like its bowing in the middle.

What pressure can the stock internals hold (with fmic or tmic) 12psi seems to be an agreed figure for fmic, 5-6 psi for NOmic

What kind of management is used, greddy piggybacks? None! eunos' are MAF, so simply see more air being drawn in, you set the timing to about 8deg BTDC for 5-6psi and go get an AFR run done with a wide band and knock sensor. Megasquirt is designed for and easily mapped, for eunos/miata, and there are gazillions of maps out there for various states of tune, all waiting to be tweeked for your own car :)

And the blitz filter,i take it you can't bypass the airflow meter in anyway?
No, well, not unless you ditch the MAF system and go MAP, though a common mod is to fit an RX7 maf, which is capable of flowing a lot more air than a stock one. To be honest, the MAFs do stirling work, and MAP is only a necessity for crazy power. although 'pub figure' eunos' do exist, 99% of eunos owners settle with around 200bhp. I dont want to upset anyone, but the majority of them arnt pub figure chasers like the majority in the starlet tuning scene atm, and settle for a happy medium of response, and improved power torque... though big figure cars do exist, like Rickys GReddy car, the HRF car etc, most people who want a mental five seem to drop in V8s...

Cheers

Ive added in answers in bold mate, hope they help?

Ive yet to drive into boost, tho at light throttle she's at zero just before 2000rpm. Ill report back when I can tramp the bag clean out of her!

Ive heard of them begi kits, but have never seen one exposed like that, usually their so piped up their lost in the maze! cool photos to see mate! More than a bit of a bargain too!

the 1.6's can take 1.2 bar (17psi) all day long, not so sure about the 1.8's tho. Also with the boost you should have at least a fuel reg on there like what comes with the greddy kits mate, basically raise the pressure with boost.

I am running one, and was running one when she was NA too, the issue with the flyin miata method is that the ECU still believes its running 1600 injectors, and belts the fuel into her expecting them to be smaller, think afr at idle was 8.9 lol - we had to take fuel out by the bucket load.

Hopefully Chris will get at her with the Innovate and the knock sensor this weekend. 8Psi from the Jackson killed Trevs 1800, even after being AFR'd lol! just not as keen on mad boost lol

another bit more progress for 2010 spec :D

all the pics are just progress ones, ive ditched as much red wiring and the red plug leads - simply down to the fact that they arnt acceptable to the certain website. theyve proved a constant point of issue to them so theyve been changed out to see if it does indeed make any visual benefit lol.

tonight i plumbed the secondary injectors in, relocated the sard regulator, and ammended all the piping, relocated the catch can, ditched the washer bottle to make way for the rebic sensors and drivers, re piped the intake side with one big ass samco bend, fitted a boost take off close the the compressor housing for prompter actuator response and less pressure drop. plumbed the greddy BOV with the necessary boost and vacuum hoses needed to operate the diapragm, and tidied a lot of wiring really!

Cost? £80 more samco :/

Result? Closer to show season!

Now the red ends of the brace look all alone.. :haha:

It just scares me that at some stage you will end up on the Portaferry Road in this. Please be careful.

no risk of that at all sir - I can barely manage my own driveway let alone your drive... plus, well, its kinda sacriledge to bring anything non toyota to jays garage unless its towing! lol

TBH it scares the bejaysus out of me too looking at it in the garage! im still aiming for just low 2's as im convinced I do have a lot to live for, and im not ready for a wooden box yet!
