Hey alan,
some questions for a mate,
Is that the 1.6 eunos? or the 1.8?
- its an 1800 retrofitted to an na6, with na6 management using the Flyin miata method
How much would it cost to go TD04(manifold,downpipe,oil/water lines.could source the turbo himself)
- ive no Idea but ebay might! instead look for T flanged manis, as T series garrets are abundant, and a disco potato would be unreal on one.
I take it its just pipe you had lying around you used, nothing fancy for the turbo to inlet?
- its all intercooler pipe from autobahn 88, the flanged ends of the pipe are really big, hence where it rides up over and looks like its bowing in the middle.
What pressure can the stock internals hold (with fmic or tmic)
12psi seems to be an agreed figure for fmic, 5-6 psi for NOmic
What kind of management is used, greddy piggybacks?
None! eunos' are MAF, so simply see more air being drawn in, you set the timing to about 8deg BTDC for 5-6psi and go get an AFR run done with a wide band and knock sensor. Megasquirt is designed for and easily mapped, for eunos/miata, and there are gazillions of maps out there for various states of tune, all waiting to be tweeked for your own car
And the blitz filter,i take it you can't bypass the airflow meter in anyway?
No, well, not unless you ditch the MAF system and go MAP, though a common mod is to fit an RX7 maf, which is capable of flowing a lot more air than a stock one. To be honest, the MAFs do stirling work, and MAP is only a necessity for crazy power. although 'pub figure' eunos' do exist, 99% of eunos owners settle with around 200bhp. I dont want to upset anyone, but the majority of them arnt pub figure chasers like the majority in the starlet tuning scene atm, and settle for a happy medium of response, and improved power torque... though big figure cars do exist, like Rickys GReddy car, the HRF car etc, most people who want a mental five seem to drop in V8s...
Cheers
