i have one of each, the one in the car at the mo is a fatt x, and its not boost sensitive, but it does have a volts gauge severel different levels of rpm to count up from, and you can set your minimum time to whatever you want, the dtt has less settings, you can either pre set it yourself to a fixed time or just have it auto which counts up from 10 secs, but it is boost sensitive and the time seems to go up accuratly in relation to how much you beat it! although the gauge is in a strange reading, not sure if it can be changed, the dtt is going back in as i think it is better.:)

I have the Clifford Viper Cat1 pager alarm fitted to mine, that has a built in turbo timer function. It can be set to run for anything from 10 seconds to 4 minutes. It can't be changed though, which is a shame. I've got mine set to 90 seconds.

The beauty of it is that I can set the turbo timer, lock and fully alarm the car and walk away. Once it's set, if someone smashes the window and tries to drive away, they've got 90 seconds to get as far as possible with the alarm blaring and the steering lock on. After 90 seconds, the triple immobiliser kicks in and cuts the power to the fuel pump, ECU and starter motor. Basically, she ain't going anywhere.:p

I get some silly looks in Tesco's when I get out, engine running, lock the car and walk away. The number of times someone has said "Do you know your car is still running?", I always reply sarcastically with "No? Is it?!" :p

Another great thing is that it doesn't void the Cat1 status for the insurance company, which is great. :)

mine use a apex'i turbo timer.. i like it because its small and help with the space on my interior.. i dont like to much gauge in my dash, thats why i put my turbo timer above the electric mirror switch.. its so slim that its looks tidy in my dash... it have a digital volt meter and other stuff too. so i usualy put the volt meter knowing my battery is well charged.

was wonderin is there any need for a turbo timer on a standard glanza ok can understand on a big bhp after a real roastin but for the wee trip to the shop no need if they needed a turbo timer toyota wood have fitted one like gtr,s come standard wot yous think??

i think the day of the turbo timer is dieing and common sence has provailed. There's really not any need for them. They were invented so your oil will cool down slower and less chance of it clogging up you oil feed for your turbo. Modern oil is very unlikly to do this. Just driving slowly anf with little boosting for the last 5 mins of any journey is far more effective.

exactly. plus most turbos are water and oil cooled so you dont really get a problem tbh.

ive only got one as it looks nice with both the GReddy timer and boost controller together. plus it gives a voltage display and can be used as a lap timer etc.
