unless the rings are broken when you take them out, then no need to replace.

if you do wanna replace they are £75+vat trade price from toyota

your piston rings are already seated to the cylinders so they wont have to be replaced.

but, if your taking the block out and getting it machined, getting it re-honed and a new set of piston rings would be best :)

If you run your finger across them can you feel a ridge or is it flat, like what sx says if the rings are ok just put them back just try not to damage them,

from the pic i put up do u think i need to hone the cyclinders? are all standard size pistons take one size of rings or are there bigger ones if cyclinders have been honed

If your keeping the original rings then dont as there already bed in to the cylinder, just mark them which came from which cylinder and put them back in the same cylinder, however if your fitting new rings then yes you will need to hone them, also about the ridge just give the cylinders a clean aslong as theres not a ridge that will catch the ring you can pop the piston out. The rings should be the same standard size you will need to check the ring gap anyway if you fit new rings, if you hone it then your not really taking much off just giving it the cross hatching for the new rings to bed in to.
