I don't always look at suggestions as to why people did not put down their car is theoretically capable of as excuses. Sometimes there are legitimate reasons.
Professionals who build cars for the drag strip don't always run the times their cars are capable for a whole host of reasons.
Be it not wide enough tyres, incorrect gear ratio's, whatever. So, in some cases there really are reasons as to why you don't get the times your car is capable of, but in our cases, ametuers who's cars are not specifically setup for drag, need to do the best they can with the setup they have and accept the times they put down and shut up, or go all out on a full drag setup
