What is the worst thing you have spent money on for your car?

Im going to also put in cheap tires. Anyone wanting to push their car hard i seriously advise to spend out on good quality tires. Do the research and see whats recommended "by people who actually use their cars properly" if you can as some people seem to think obviously crap tires are really good?? I put that down to lack of experience...

So do proper research in parts in general and be careful who you take advice from.

I really don't no where to start and don't really want to think of all my money that went to waste but the big one was paying 5000 on insurance and other thing like pay way over price on people spraying bumpers and parts when I could have did it myself. O yes and most of all my 1st gt was crashed but I didn't no and my so called friend didn't tel me before he sold it on to me... I just hope I don't ever pay out sillly money again for shit again....

Well said Dan, good quality tyres by Toyo/Yokohama arent that expensive these days.

glanza interior plastics for my SR to match my recaro seats, paid quite abit for them because of postage. I said they MUST be in good condition. he said they was mint.. biggest lie ever! they turned up scuffed and the car had obviously been re-sprayed badly at some point and had overspray all over them, doors had been shutting on the door trims where they had been taken off for a re-spray and i still never got one of the parts i paid for! so a week later i went to see a guy breaking a glanza and got all the parts that were useless again for less in much better condition! never buying interior plastics through pictures again! lol

Nine different turbo setups (before the 18g), 4 different ecu setups (before the emu)... if only i knew what a good combination the 18g & the emu are together on the 4e, i would have saved alot of time and money....

moral of the story: THINK about your goals, driving style, racing application, reviews done by other members about what's hot and what's not.... remember just because its the norm doesnt mean its the best... and vice versa , an unpopular/different choice may seem like a good idea, but may end up as a waste of time/money.

Just my 2p :)

worst thing i ever bought........ The car. there nothing but money pits, and when it comes to selling them, you then go through the hastle of ripping it apart.

We spend ££££'s of pounds getting them to 300bhp, and to finally handle well, when we could just buy a car that already has that power and handles 10x better than a starlet.

I love them because there small, different and quick, but theres better cars out there for less money.

well, weres the fun in having no money from lashing it all out on the starlet to make it better?

when ur competing with ur ep in any event, and your expectations are exceeded!! Its all worth-it in the end.. just like any other hobby i guess.. (or devotion in the case of the ep lol) besides, wede prob be broke anyways speding money on other stuff if it wasnt our wee cars.. .lets face it, i for one cant save a single miserable euro :haha:

u gotta look at the bright side always... otherwise there is no point in ever doing anything guys :)

yeah i know, my car is just a hobby, but expensive, then when it comes down to it and the amount of money we have spent on these little cars, we could have something bigger and more powerfull.

I do love these cars, i think there mint, but they are just a money pit

lol.. i know where ur coming from mate..

its like when we have a meet and you get that aweful question asked "so how much have you spent on your glanza so far?" .. i fucking hate that question, its like getting a fucking phone call from your accountant reminding you that:

a.) your broke
b.) looks like the future isnt very different anyways
c.) who the hell really wants to do the maths?

So basically i go for a very simple answer : "Well iv had her for 8 years now.. i guess thats how long iv been broke" :haha: it always gives the result i look for.. ie very perplexed faces :haha:

Seriously, i do wish i had the money for a supra or skyline, or something on those lines, but then ud prob end up spending alot more to get those rides up to spec, even harder is getting them to give you the same fun factor this little "sowing machine sized engine" does.. :haha:
