Will cams make a difference??

Sooooo, would 276's give me what I want Toby?

Yeah, go for 300's with 10mm of lift :p if that's what you really want but I doubt you will be able to get any good results from it, prove me wrong!

Look at the Cruise cars, they had massive response issues and ran 280's, never even got into the 12's down the strip. Then take HRF, 256's and 11 second car. Okay this is a biased view and it comes down to 100 things more than just cams but I just don't think it did the cars any favours. That's my take anyway!

8.0mm lift on intake for 5efhe, 7.3mm for exhaust

7.2mm lift on intake for 4efte, 7.0mm for exhaust

Slight difference in duration, centerlines will be different though.

Here i took a couple of pictures of the difference,

longer duration see how oval the 5efhe ones are,.. so the valves stay more open for longer :drive:

256 and 8mm lift would be more than enough, ideally you need to get the whole lot on a flow bench and test for volumetric efficiency as it's really hard for us to give a definitive answer :)

ok no probs and im not bothered if its slightly agressive as i have a van as a daily drive.
how much is it to put it on one of them benches anyhow?

WOW, big response, didnt think any1 had replied, hmmm have:

td04
wepr td04 manifold
Emanage
customade down pipe
greddy boost controller
fmic
5zeigen full exhaust system
lsd
tein's
fuel regulator
walbro fuel pump

Think thats it for the time being. Know they are pretty expensive, so wanted to know what all they would do before i try and purchase some. Improve it or not??

It won't really add power or improved figures until you get into the higher realms of HP but with the right application, careful flow analysis and a good selection of quality parts then yes you would see some nice differences through the higher end of the rev range pending on what spec you go for.

It's just one question that is hard to answer as everyone's needs are different and flow characteristics will differ across the board immensely. I would love to say this duration with this amount of lift but it may not be suited to your setup. I personally would not go over 256/256 with 8mm of lift regardless of power.
