Thats my mani :)

The main thing that attracted me was the grade of stainless he uses. SUS 321 which is rated to 1000 degree's C, the cheaper stainless manis are only made form SUS 301 which is pants are 400 degree's C.

Hence why they crack, the welding is top notch here is a photo of it fitted.

That's cool then. I've got a speedvision one atm and it's already cracked twice :( so i'm a bit dubious to s/s now

the speedvision ones were only made of 304 grade, the zisco ones are made of 321 grade, the higher number means it will be stronger.

if you ask for the mani to be made with a brace it will be way more than fine.

if your really worried about cracking, then get the mild steel one.

but be warned it wont fit with standard efi pipe,

Awesome, thanks mate. Fitted my front mount air filter today so if it cracks again, i will flog it and get a zisco one, althought you said they wont fit with a blitz fmic?

nope they wont fit with blitz/autobahn piping, so you will need to make some custom inter cooler piping, which is a bit awkward

so, the likleyhood of these mani's cracking is very very low?

put it this way, out of all the stainless steel manifolds we have made over the past 4 years only 1 has cracked.. & that was on a diesel running 45psi on a t4 lol.. it went coz the mounting blew & all teh weight of the engine ended up on the manifold.. hardly fault of the manifold lol..

other than that there has been NOT A SINGLE ONE! till this date that has cracked :)

The reason the other ones crack, is the fact that they are made from 304, that when smelted isnt pure, so lots of other crap is put in.. If you bought aircraft grade 304, then it wouldnt crack as it is pure when smelted..321 is a much better metal to use. I have been told by a friend who works on rally cars that the best results would be 321 SUS at 3.5mm thickness

Lots of people think that with mild steel there are no problems, Which is wrong. Mild steel when hot, will move and distort, the last thing we want to happen.
