lol... some smell of testosterone off this thread.. I had to spray it with febreeze to stop it attracting too many stray female dogs to the forum.

I would never spend 30K on that. You can get a decent Porshe for that, especially 1998...... I mean I understand it's rare, but such rare things has to sit in the garage most of the time and not to be on the road, So you basically buy a car for looking at it, not to drive it.... i mean it looks like a Standard Subaru..... You can get decent fast cars for these money, Porshe, EVO 9, NIssan GTR........

it looks nothing like a standard subaru. also the year has absolutely nothing to do with it.
i'd have a 22b over any porche or evo, as would anyone that knows anything about them.
just saying it looks like a standard subaru proves you've never seen one or don't know the 1st thing about them.

didnt these handle far better than the p1 scobbys and faster aswell. wasnt the p1 only a 2.0 turbo and the 22b was 2.2

okay... okay... lets not be hasty here... it is nice and all but you would take that over a 911 turbo??

yep :D these cars are ultra rare, anyone can have a porche, but these don't even come up for sale that often. when i was looking throught the auctions in japan when i was importing, i saw 1 22b go through in a year!
i have always wanted one!

yeh i wouldn't even compare a p1 to these, they are 2.2 turbo

Whoooaw... I never said i didnt know what a 22B was as ive known about the car for years just not in detail. And i didnt know quite how much they were worth, Performance wise they do not stand out from the crowd. Your buying heratige as yes its a stunning subaru but they are panels! You can make loads of subarus that shape look near if not as gorgeous as that.

£30K is absolutely laughable and wouldn't even consider it. You'd have to be obsessed with subarus to pay £30K just for a cars heritage. I buy cars to personally enjoy them and their performance and i think i would enjoy any subaru equally as much providing it has a "similar spec" which isnt hard to achieve. It has like 270-280BHP, oooohh k.....

22B over a 911 turbo???! I think some of you are just plain crazy! I genuinely think that. But fair dooz for the people that worship this car, i just cant appreciate that opinion as i dont worship any car with such a small spec list in comparison to what you can buy for that money. Not only that............. ITS A SUBARU regardless of why it was made!!!

PS.... you cant compare porshe to subaru, there isnt a comparison in absolutely any way. It does look nicer then a bog standard subaru but it doesnt exactly look miles off does it...............? I dont have to be a fan to know what im looking at. Im a fan of all cars in general anyway.

as said above, people can't really slag off subaru when porche hasn't changed their shape since the beginning of time!!
i said in a previous post, one of these from japan is around the 25k mark, thats their value simple as!!
you could stick a turbo bonnet and rear discs on a glanza s, doesn't make it the genuine article though does it?!

I know my cars but the scooby just got boring to me with all the different version numbers etc, I stopped paying attention after there was a wrx/sti/type r/type ra etc etc.. I dont think subaru did a great job with their naming conventions, its not a good sign when people get very confused about the different versions of your car.

I still dont know which is which :)

Same as porshe though how many different versions of the 911 do they release?

Im not slagging off subaru at all, they are good cars and perform well fact although in general i think they have lost alot of desirability due to all the egg heads buying them. Back to the 22B, i know thats the value now, and i accept that i just cannot appreciate the fact that its priced that high. Even with its heritage. It just doest differ enough from the rest in my eyes. But i do think its stunning!! and would love it but for no more then £10K. Thats probably because i cant fully appreciate what the car is. 30K is a disturbing price for an old subaru. You can pick a type R A for what 8K mint.... What in the world justifies spending £22K more?? Every time i think about the price i feel like laughing in disbelief.

Sorry if that offends.

no doesn't offend at all. the funny thing is, if one of these is stuck in a bubble somewhere for 20 years it will probably be worth double :haha:
