i think a few peoples starlets may be a little down on stock power if your struggling against cars like that.

I hate to admit it, but I did own a Saxo VTR for about 3 weeks once, couldnt cope any longer than that.

Had a GMC motorsport manifold, no cat with straight through exhaust and a cold air intake.
Would top out at 90 (struggling to get there), the brakes were dangerous (rear would overtake the front) and in general a horrible horrible car.
The only good thing was fuel economy.

Just my opinion from my experience.

I got 129MPH on the clock soo many times in mine in stock form once again..... my mum also had one back in the day and i topped that out at 129mph too, think they are limited to that or something.... Clock speed this is, so about 119mph to be fair... dont know why yours only did 90mph.....

Taken from: http://www.carpages.co.uk/guide/ford/ford-fiesta-zetec-s-1.6-3dr.asp

Fiesta Zetec S

Engine Capacity 1596 cc
Cylinders 4
Valves 16v
Power 100@6000 ps/rpm
Torque 108@4000 lb/ft
Kerb Weight 1128 kg

Its not gunna happen against a Starlet GT.

*To be honest im glad it only did 90, think bits might have started falling off if it went any faster. To be fair, it wasnt too bad off the line, but on the motorway you be screwing the balls off it just to overtake something.

140mph in a Saxo VTR with just an exhaust is having a laugh. I'd just nod and smile......

not another one of these!!

a zs is the same power/weight as a saxo, but saxos are quicker, theres loads of zs's around here and theyre all the same

airfiler
exhaust
boost valve

blah blah blah....

but my mate had cams, verniers and a few more tricks in his and was like 130-140bhp,we went to stoke(about 40 mins away) there were 3 of us in the saxo(3 15 stone lads) and 3 in his zs(3 9-10 stone lads) and the saxo pulled from him everywhere.zetec-s' have no torque comapred to a vtr either

and they all get swiped by a standard vtr driven by geek lol....

saxos are quicker cars than you think, get upto the tonne quite quick, and are mint around corners!im scared of vts-106 gti's!iv gone in a couple of em in my time and theyre rather quick....i actually snapped a seat in a vts from going to hard around a corner :homer:

p.s dan my mates vtRRRR did 134 and that was stock, apart from decat-filter,vts can get 140-145....

like my story?shall i publish it?

obviously im chatting out my asshole :/ god some people just wont listen.

I won't agree with you, but I'l say you arn't far off from doing so.

I own a Zetec S and have done for the best part of a year.. Unless your 'mates' is cammed, TB'ed and some form of management (omex..etc) then its just not possible he could keep up with a stock GT/Glanza..

Unless like the other guy said, the Gt/Glanza was running no boost or down on power with another fault.

Not meaning to be an arse, but take it from experience, a ZS would under no circumstances come close 0-60 or 1/4 to a GT! :p

To be fair I have been told that the main difference between an asshole and a mouth is that a mouth has teeth....

I just dont see how its possible for a 100hp lard ass Fiesta with no torque could keep up with a Starlet GT..

(if you still have it-if its nearly as quick as a gt why you on here?:homer:)

your car run 14s then?

CaL did you read CMR's post properly, think what he is trying to say is a Zetec S is like waitng for your Nan compared to a GT.

I'll throw my two pence into the well before this gets locked...

A stock GT will be quicker than a Saxo VTR, Fiesta Zetec S, a Citroen C2 VTR/GT/VTS and any other 120bhp 1200 kilo luke-warm hatch you care to think of. However, when I say quicker, the GT won't disappear off into the sunset with smoking fire trails behind it. Yes, it's quicker, but it's not that much fucking quicker. Come on, live in the real world people. We drive quick cars, but they're not invincible.

What the hell are you on about, Learn to read a post before replying some sarcastic comment back to it.

When did I say I own a ZS thats as quick as a GT?

I said theres no way a stock ZS COULD EVER keep up with a GT.

EDIT: Looking at your previous posts CaL they all seem to be like that, I sympathize for you.

Fiesta Zetec S 0-60 10 sec
Starlet GT 0-60 7 sec

So from a standing start by the time the Fiesta hits 60 the Starlet will have already have been doing 60 for 3 seconds (assuming the starlet maitains 60 and does not increase its speed)

So when the Fiesta hits 60 the Starlet will have coverd a further 0.05 miles which equals 80.4 metres.
