    5e smoking AGAIN!!

Nah my old engine was fine. The build is 2500km old (dont know how many miles). I guess I can change my oil. Question: So even if there is no oil in the intercooler piping where it connects to the intake manifold, there is still a chance it could be the turbo slowly going?

    5e smoking AGAIN!!

Yup thanks guys. I'll will check. So remove the d.pipe and check through the turbine? The car does not blow smoke if its not idle for too long, even under boost. Will this make a difference to the outcome?

    5e smoking AGAIN!!

hhmmm how would I check it is the turbo? I've checked the intercooler piping to the intake manifold already and no oil there. There is no oil leaking out of the dump pipe. So if my rings didnt bed cos of the thick oil, will it be too late to bed them in?

    5e smoking AGAIN!!

car has a breather, pretty much one of those little air filter looking things straight on the valve between 3 and 4. PCV is connected straight to the intake manifold. The reason for 20w-50... *shrugs* I'll go thinner next time. Thought that it was better to run thick oil when the engine is...

    5e smoking AGAIN!!

still Smoking after replaced valve stem seals

Hey guys Just got my car back from the mechanics. Had the valve stem seals replaced (as we have ruled out that it wasn't the rings and turbo). The car is smoking less on idle but STILL SMOKING. After the car warms up, if i leave it to idle for about a couple of minutes and step on the...

Valve Stem Seals or PCV Valve?

So it can still be stem seals even if blocking off the PCV stops the smoking? Just need to know as the car is getting booked in soon. *** I haven't modifed the PCV system in any way yet ***

Valve Stem Seals or PCV Valve?

yeah alright, i'll change the PCV valve first. Does anyone know if a blocked PCV can cause loss of excess oil? My mechanic told me it has something to do with vacuum or something in the head that sucks the oil up and through the valve stem seals? I have no idea
