mate ignore what they say about young drivers crashing there cars.
most people at some point weather its there fault or not will have an accident! at any age.
doesnt matter how good or bad a driver you are if someone else hits your car!

yes its powerfull yes its fast but start on a gt and you wont have the problem of not being able to cope with the power.
some who swop from cars with no power that they think they car drive! get in a gt and try and drive it the same way and thats just wrong! hence why so many get crashed.

Hmmm this sounds like it could be rather expensive, will be bad enough if it was just a standard glanza but i think the mods might put insurance well out of budget. Oh well looks like it wont be getting driven on the road :(

But going back to the young driver thing , its one thing that bugs me as a young driver myself , the fact we all get tarred with the same brush. Without a doubt experience counts , but some of the driving i witness from people that have been driving for years still shocks me. I agree there are young drivers out there who yes are bad and will only get better with experience many of my friends i refuse to get in a car with because i dont feel comfortable sat next to them. Whether that is the case in 10 years i dont know. But then again on the other side of the coin, there are young drivers out there who are very good.

Also i think the "you wont be able to handle the power" comments are unfair , peoples experiences with cars vary so much that i think its unfair to say that about all. For example i have driven rx7s/supras/skylines etc so does that mean i wont be able to handle the power of a glanza because im 17?!?

You get my drift.. its an akward subject. But at the end of the day i think it all comes down to be being responsible and remembering there is a time and a place.

Unfortunatly as ollie from sky said insurance is all down to statistics and statisticly the younger you are (and the extremely old) are more likely to crash a car. And it's probably not down to not being able to control the car, just more likely to take more risks. It's unfair and insurance is definatly over priced as i've probably paid out £7k in insurance over the years and not made one claim it just means i'm the one paying for other peoples mistakes but than one day it may be my turn to fuck up.

i started off in a 1.4 saxo, then after my first year. went to a convertable turbo a little suzuki cappuccino. really fun cars and all my friends said cause it was turbo and rear wheel drive i would not stand a chance in winter. well to be honest it does wind you up, and no doubt like every one you will have your scares that will teach you lessons. to me i took it on the chin, look on the bright side, the people making the posts are still helping you out by saying it will be a fast car for inexperienced(take it as a warning). but thats down to you and how much you want to put your right foot down... i learned after in my little car it was, mad in summer trying to keep the back end in so i just took it carefully in winter like with any car and now, i still have it in one pieace :) so screw them. now im happy with my little gt, producing 3 times the standard bhp of my little cappo, but im still easy driving it, sure you have a bit of fun when you get on a straight, but just dont spank it like every other first time driver seems to do. youll be right im sure, and make sure you enjoy it, having a starlet is a privelidge.... there right... you could be stuck with a corsa?? so make sure you drive wisely otherwise you probs wont even be able to get insured on that!! (SORRY FOR ESSAY) cant sleep and im bored haha
