lol strange indeed, im sticking a ct9 on my STOCK 4efe in a few weeks but only going to run 0.6bar with some bigger injectors and see how that goes. just an experament really to see what the n/a can take before i use my GT again

similar thing happened Peugeot 306 D-turbo engines. They accidentally fitted N/A diesel rods to the turbo engines in 1997. It wasnt discovered until loads of owners had rods spiked thru the block:p

Maybe a similar mix up of rods has happened with the Glanza?

not sure,2 engines where 96 glanza, another was ment to have came from a 98 and it had chicken leg rods too,so id say 99 would have aswell.
my mate sent them out through 2 glanza engines.

Yes all true Glanza turbo rods are thinner but no one knows if toyota used a better material to make up for it...I believe they did it to get faster revs just as they added the extra exhaust blade...all to make up for the weight increase.

rods can handle alot of power 18psi-20 on td04s but just dont overrev them..if you've the money get some scat rods and be at ease

if u lowered compression it shudnt be to bad, interesting experiment but,let me know how it turns out for you lad.

and dont worry too much about the rods goldenvtr....let's not forget dale (10secrx-7) in australia ran a 4efe with tdo4l with 200whp for along time around 18-20psi......:)........BUT let's also remember dale is know to be good at what he does----tune and build cars/parts....lol

Sorry to bring this thread up again, but after reading about the thin Glanza rods its got me thinking. What would people advise revving too on a TD04 at 1bar ? 6k ?

Want my engine to last a far bit until the forge is completed.
