i had a new cv joint fited to my 95gt but my old cv joint didn have a abs ring yet my car does have abs. So fitted my new cv joint with abs ring, n now the abs on that wheel is not working. I wil remove the ring tomorow, but wondered why the abs doesnt require an abs ring?

Strange, ABS uses a ring to get the speed etc, does the other side have a ring?

What splines did you go for 23/23 or 23/30, and where did you order the joint from?

im not sure about the other side having a abs ring but im guessing not, as the one taken of never and the abs worked fine. it was a 23/23 spline. the joint was from camskill.
if any one has had similar problem would be grateful for advice.
thanx

Well, I bought two 23/30 joints from camskill and my abs does not work anymore.

The ring on the 23/30 is the wrong size. I'm in the process of swapping them over, I have the rings off the old toyota ones, just need to test one on the new joint at the weekend, before I kill myself without ABS!

A lad on the site did have the 23/23 joint from camskill and his ABS is fine tho.

See my thread about it here

When you say worked do you mean did not throw up a fault light, but now with the ring on it does?

I would say its a faulty sensor if thats the case, and if it is, check the wiring at the abs box incase 2 sensor wires are doubled up.

im about to buy a glanza, but if failed the NCT coz the sensor on the ABS ring was gone? is this a big job, or is it not even worth worryin bout it.

If the abs sensor is broken or damaged, its an easy job, about two 10 mm screws, the sensor is about £110 new from Toyota
