What I find odd is that one of my friend has the EP91 and is insured through Adrian Flux and he's 19, driving one year with one year NCB. Another friend of mine who also owns an EP91 who is also 19 is insured (not sure who he's insured with)

they r either lying or insuring it as sumthing its not. adriun flux told me that i cannot get insured on a glanza at all until im 21. u shud be ok tho cus ep82's r a lot easier to insure. edit: schism just read ur last post and dnt worry mate the time will fly by, and ur mates r walking a tightrope there...any crash and they r fucked bigtime. especially if any1 gets hurt. ur doin the right thing mate.

Turn 21 next July :( Though I don't have much room for choice, so I guess its playing the waiting game. I did however get a quote from Quinn at about £1033, that was with one years NCB but I will have to wait untill the beginning of November to go through with that. Not nearly as bad as waiting 10 months, but its still going to be the longest 2 months of my life.

Edit: One friend who owns an EP91 is insured through Elephant but on the policy it comes through as non-turbo, and the other friend is insured with Adrian Flux. Not sure what his EP91 is registered as, but I'm guessing its also a N/A vehicle as both of them are paying around the £800 mark and are younger than me. Would hate for either of them to make a claim though.

bare in min its not only age that comes in to factor when getting a quote, its the crime rate/claim rate etc in your area too.i got insured with e-car insurance for my gt when i was 19 with no years ncb and was paying £2,450 all mods disclosed.

So I just rang Adrian Flux to vent my rage on how people I know are getting insured on the EP's who are under 21 years of age and to my surprise they did offer me a quote.

A ball park figure between £1700 - £2000 with one years NCB.

After all this I guess Adrian Flux wasnt such a good idea after all.

Time to get the phone out and continue making phone calls

i would stay away from flux anyways... My mate had his FTO insured with them, he had an accident in it and it turned out flux had cancelled his policy without tellin him a couple of months prior therefore never got paid out... there was a payment issue one month (pays monthly) and instead of contacting him to get it sorted they just cancelled his policy.

he is in the process of taking them to court at the minute as this resulted in fines, points on licence etc...

i was insured with flux at 20, 2yrs ncb 1k mods declared (alloys, exhaust, airfilter, fmic, dumpvalve) also live in a high risk area which plays a huge part in quote price.

Sorry for double post but im feeling lazy atm :p Im aware of the area playing a role in how much you pay. Doesnt it work on how many claims are made in your area? If so who knows the amount of claims are made in that area other than the insurance providers. Seems a bit biased. Anyone can make the claim that any particular urban area has high claims but we're none the wiser??

Could buy a plot of land in the country side, get planning permission and build a house, get a quote for the car and still get the same quote or perhaps even higher even though the population of the area is 9000x less than others in the country.

If that is the case I would go and tell your freinds that they might as well not be insured as the car your insuring needs to be listed on the policy. It's like insuring a GT FOur but telling them its only a 2.0 GT Celica.

That means if they have an accident or make a claim they are fucked and if they crash into me that makes their insurance invalid and I'd lose my no claims because of idiots who can't afford to insure the car they are driving.

Apologies for the rant but I hate folk who toss about with insurance when hard earning folk who go through the correct channels and pay more.

Back on topic anyway m8, sorry about the rant.

Between 1700 and 2000 aint that bad really but I'm sure you can get that cheaper.

Have you tried admiral?

I've tried admiral.. Stupid quotes. £1300 doesnt seem so bad really! Really considering my options here as money is tight, and although having the money to insure it, insuring it would make money water tight! Not even a penny would be able to leak out of my account :p

If they bumped into you, even though not properly insured wouldnt they be up shit-pan ally? I mean, surely you can take them to court for misleading the insurance providers?

And no worries about the rant, I share your anger which is why I want to get this done properly - Even if it means waiting for 2months - to a year!

you're from the chesterfield region, arent ya? :)

I could take them to court and I'm sure the police would want to prosecute but if I wanted to fix my car because of the smash it would be my pocket and insurance that would be dealt the blow, thats why I'm always ona rant when people are not insured properly.

£1300 is not that bad to be honest, when I first got mine I payed just shy of that and that was with a smash to boot and I was 23 then.

I am very close to chesterfield, live just outside in a little village called Tibshelf.

So he was telling me! Speaking of Co-op. I must live 1 minute from that supermarket. 30 seconds if driving in a EP82! :p

Very local then, no doubt I will see you driving around in the near future.

What EP did you get? Buy it locally or from further afield?

deffo go with bell or admiral. Im 17 no-no claims and i've been quoted on an ep91 turbo import for £1011. but thats with my dad on my policy aswell.
If i take him off it rockets to 1500.
My boyfriend had a volvo 850R 2.3 turbo when he was 19 and payed £900 with bell, seem to be reasonably priced i think!

Bell, Admiral, Elephant, Do not insure Glanza V's.

Recently they have added the Glanza S (Import) onto their books but the V is still not on there.....
