have a look where abouts the sensor is in the exhuast :p

Ian - is yours working fine now??

nope :homer: still does the same - starts off at 14.7 then drops to 10.0 / --.- even with the engine off.

i'mma send my gauge up to rory so he can test it to rule his out and also to see if mine still acts up on his loom.

bad AEM.

sensors are probably duff, lambdas braek easy when dropped so imagine what the post offices are like withthe items, and that would probably be the reason most dont seem to work.

The three enemies of the lambda probe are heat, fuel and vibration. If it's dead then one of these have probably killed it.

Only recently mine died during an enthusiastic 4th gear run. It didn't enjoy bouncing off the road surface or the subsequent bounce off the back window that woke me up.

On this note, considering we may be dealing with dead lambdas, where does everyone go for a replacement? Cheapest I could find in the UK was £65-ish delivered.

Was trying to avoid the States as they get me with import tax nearly every bloody time..

I noticed that it's very similar to a VAG 1.8T sensor. Has anyone ever traced a part number?

it's got the bosch part number in the link, or find a local innovate dealer and buy a replacement sensor off them.

part numbers also on that site

Aye, just need a firsthand 100% doublecheck on the part number then I can investigate VW prices. I'd trust the 2 year/unlimited mileage VW warranty over anything I find on the net. ;)

according to bosh there sensor doesnt work properley till it gets to 800 degrees and the sensor has a heat core in it to warm it up quicker.

**Update - 06/09/08**

Right, we have manage to get out for a little drive today, made no odds, weather the sensor was hot or cold. :(
Ive received Iain's gauge, and will try it tomorow morning.

Ive no idea why this is doing this.
The fag lighter is fine, as it power the tuners wideband no problem.

Any other thoughts?

Rory
