air filter relocation, whats the best method and filter?

if the turbo has mesh over it that obviously has holes small enough to prevent large shit going in that is suitable...... a filter is the same, it wont allow shit to enter..... mesh or a filter is the same principle but as i said depending on which filter your using may be slightley more restrictive then the mesh.... but also wont make much difference in performance... maybe a "tad" more response using the mesh but something you wont notice really....

either mesh it properly or get a small relocation pipe and place in a good place where getting good cold air.......

I persoonally wouldnt complete take filter/mesh off as i'd be paranoid of ruining my turbo.... your choice though......

Jules the thing is a filter straight off the turbo where the standard turbo is positioned isnt really the best place for cold air in my opinion, looks like its tucked away behind.... a little pipe away in a nice suitable place would work better really........ aim to the front of the car or underneath.....

as i said cal i havent had one problem with it........ just make sue the filter isnt in line with your wheel as it could help to flick water up.... which it wont be inline anyway but just saying thats my only advise....

ive ran the car for about 50-100miles with some fairly fine mesh over the turbo inlet and i removed my tmic today and there was alot of dirt that had got in. i think ill be removing my mesh and going for the relocated filter before i use the car again.

spraying in water to help cool the intake charge and reduce detonation. sucking water through your filter off the road isnt exactly the best way to go about it though!
