Altenator/Battery? help!!!

Yeh i no its the altenator lol.....but what im tryna say is, we tried to jump start it with my mates car.....but the ignition light did not come on.....a fuse maybe?

also can someone tell me where the earth for the altenator is located?

Anyone no where the altenator earth is located?

Or anyone be able to tell me how many earths there needs to be in the engine bay?

never changed alternator on starlet but id imagine its earthed through its mounting points

theres an earth on the gearbox(topside), something at the drivers side engine mount, and thats all i remember sorry!

Yeh i thought there was one on the left drivers engine mount......but i dnt think i put it back on....maybe this could be why im getin problems with my altenator?

Cant get no ignition!

Right when i turn the key onto ingnition now lights come on the dash?

i did disconnect my altenator power cable from the altenator, it possible that it might of touched the cars body.....could this of mucked up my ECU? hence why no ignition lights and car wont start?

im to lazy to read over your other posts, something to do with a dying alternator?

Ok ill have a look at the fuses 2morrow.....has the car is stuck at a mates house

Just wanna get this altenator problem sorted.

retrace ur steps mate.. make sure everything is connected especially earths.. check all fuses in engine bay and under steering wheel.. keep the fate mate. could b something very small

Ecu???

Right my car wont start wat so ever.....the battery aint even flat either.....i turn the key to put iginition on but nothing happens, even when i turn headlights on the dials dont light up, clock dont work, windows dont work, alarm dont work

I checked all the fuses and they look ok......could the ECU be shot?

Sounds like a blown fuse, somethings unplugged or somethings burnt out.

Have you definitely checked all the fuses in the under-hood fuse box?

Yeh i checked the relivent ones that would cause it to not start....i just dunno where to start with it anymore

Im gonna try and get it towed back to my house 2morrow, so i can have a further look onto the problem, if i cant sort it then off to auto electrians i think.

I would suggest pulling every fuse out one by one and checking none are blown and then double checking that everything you may have unplugged is plugged back in.

Yeh i will do mate....the only thing that was unplugged was the power wire coming from battery to the altenator.

check the iginition fuse under steering wheel.. check all fuses.. also did u connect the 2 connectors back on the altenator
