nothing to do with hernias but i injured my knee a couple months ago and have been in pain and shit since, found out on tuesday ive fractured the top of my tibia and ruptured my cruciat ligament, shitting it to be honest, by the sounds of things its gonna give me arthritus and all sorts of shit in my left knee when im older, proper gutted

welome to my world i did my cruciate ligiment 3 weeks ago waiting on an operation ,no sports for a year , gutted :mad:

the knee's not that bad, I was on crutches on and off for a year, 2 op's later and I'm back playing rugby with no pain at all, apparently Ill have arthritis by 50 but thats 30 years of medical advancements in knee replacement lol.

update....

sorted, fuckin painful tho, even the stupid things like coughing have me bent over like a old man.....

and far be it from me to question the medical people's skill, but my scar looks absolutely shit! My sisters whos a podiatrist said she would be sacked for leaving someones foot like that, but meh....

I think it would have looked better if they somehow incorporated my mole to look like an exclaimation mark ! ! :haha:

ahh looks like a tasty scar alright .....
the dreaded staples.... my dad also got stapled after a massive op and it left a fierce wide scar from the middle of his chest all way down past his belly button and if that aint bad enough it never faded so its still very reddish purple....
not very pretty but hey the op was a success and by the sounds of it so was yours ....

Thats a nasty scar.I would have thought that they would have at least used proper stitches [ non absorbable ones or even subcut absorbable sutures ].

Haha, imaging going to the beach with an exclamation mark on your stomach!

In my experience,i have seen staples not that good, but its more practical for the surgeon. It takes less time to staple and more to suture.

Lets just say that staples are for lazy surgeons.

It may not necessarily cause arthritis if the fracture heals properly.
There is a tablet called Super Joints, helps restore the lost cartilage due to inflammation. But you will have to take it after the fracture has healed.
As for the cruciate ligament,a good surgeon can repair and with proper physiotherapy you should be sorted out.
Hope this helps.

lol u dont know the half of it mate, ive been walking around on it for 3 months because the stupid fucking nhs mis-diagnosed me which is unbelievable, the cheif orthapeadic guy at broomfield hospital near me said my cruciat is fine, ide just hurt some cartelige, and then they x rayed it and said nothing was broken, did 2 months of physion, found myself in pain day in day out, refered to private, a week later after an mri scan, oh yeah, ya tibias fractured and ure cruciat ligaments fucked lol. great! haha.

in all seriousness though, after the op, physio physio physio, after like a month gently start whacking it out in the gym, i know guys that have been back playing football in 6 months due to good recovery workouts and shit, just be careful with it.

Since your a man in the know dude, have you any bloody idea why they hell the right side of my abdomen is twitching like a rabbits nose constantly?

and should it still be "leaking" blood and yellow crap all over these dressing things?

Ive changed it twice since i got home now, but i suppose 30 hours ago I was split in half on a table.......

Thats a bit of discharge from the wound, which will stop soon as the healing proceeds.
The twitching can be explained due to that fact that there are some nerve fibres that inevitably get cut during the operation.Over time as healing takes place the cut ends of the nerves will be 'capped' and the twitching will stop.
