I had an ebay set for 3 years with no hassle just got a proper 6k phillips set recently 8ks are to bright in these cars without projectors for other road users imo.

6k are brighter than 8k mate, the higher up the scale you go the bluer and more distorted the light becomes

what do u mean by less bright? dazzling or whiteness? the lower down the scale say 4000 are the closet to pure white, so in my opinion thats brighter in terms of performance to see the road etc, as you go higher the shade of blue becomes more overpowering so it reduces its performance (brightness)

but 6000k and 8000k are very similar anyway :)

I find them less blinding as in bright they are not far off a good normal halogen bulb. The phillips ones I have just look like good bulbs not hids. On a dark wet night I could'nt see shit with 8k's. Funny having these bright lights blinding everyone but yet could'nt see shit from inside the car lol

the HID 6000k should be alot different to a halogen bulb, the light will be clearer and alot more white in colour than halogen which is normally slightly yellowish. 8000k give off less light than 6000k so thats why i said they arnt as bright

i have 8k hi/lo's and there is a serious amout of light from them, more than i could want. lights up the whole road in front of me!!

Yeah I get ya but what I was saying the 6k's are less blinding to others. I havent got flashed since I put them in with the 8 k's everywhere I went I got flashed and the cops would be onto me too.

ye i agree, the 8k can be quite dazzling as the light isnt as "pure" or clear as 6K. i do see what u mean mate i wasnt trying to get a debate going :) also the police love the 8K's as some of them are seriously blue!
