Low blow setup on a B16 gives 260hp on a stock motor....
As for forged, depends how much HP you want ;)

As for folk saying Honda engines are shite etc need to pull there heads out there arse and smell the fresh air.

Damn right Rory.
People in the USA are producing over 600bhp from a 1.6 vtec turbos without nos

If it was yellow then was my old project car. Changed as 4e-fte engine blew bottom end (common) then 2nd had crack in the block so was fed up an had 2 b16a1 engines lying around.
With a turbo kit it would prob munch away at most td04 set ups.
Forged con rods already as VTec so just pistons etc.
Cheap and reliable engine. Unlike Toyota's.
I loved the turbo lump but its not a strong engine.

sounds great kris, but i assure you the con rods in a B16A1 engine are not forged... neither are the rods in the B16A2, B16B or the B18C

however they are forged in the F20C the S2k engine, those are the engines that can handle 500Hp with stock internals... :D

i applaud you for using what you had at the time and thinking outside the box. :D Bravo sir

I wouldnt put a honda engine in as hondas are driven by douches and i therefore hate all hondas/honda engines..

no doubt it would be a better engine and probably more fun to drive. people are narrow minded

Honda's produce good engines that can produce good power and reliability we build turbo ones at work and good out come for bhp the only thing on the downside is they don't deliver torque

It wasn't tricky to do tbh. But fair play I thought they were forged due to vtec.
They definitely lack torque tho.
But hey it was a project build and the cv joints and suspension was not in good shape so don't believe the brummy lad saying it handles well.
Needed work but overall had a lot of potential. Its would be cheaper in long run for more power.
But nice one to those who see the potential, of course douche bags drive Honda civics etc but its not in one of those. Its in a starlet an there ain't many who can say they done something different ;)

dude the guy that recently bought my car did so as he had seen the Vtec one for sale and didn't like so came to buy mine, So i thank you for making the car as without he would not have bought mine. :D

Persoanlly i say fair play for trying something different.

There is a guy on the EK9 forum who is putting a H22 from the Prelude in a VW Polo so i think the B16 in a glanza is a much better idea than his lol.

Having chased and failed to catch a Honda powered BMW all year on our local track I have changed my mind about Honda engines, good power and honda use proper gear ratios with them too.

The tuning market for Honda is unbelievable, so many options and parts available because of there popularity. You could easily end up with one thats far superior in every way to a Starlet with the correct money spent on it apart from 1... the badge ;)

I wouldnt do a swap like this unless i added a turbo or supercharger. Hate on b16s all you like but you can get alot more power out of them than any 4e

I was more fed up than anything. Needed a reliable engine. Honda def won that bet. But I think someone had to do it :)
