what time did you go back and get the car?
in the car 12.40, breathalised at 1.40
best of luck tho mate, best advice i can give is to go in and be honest, thats the best you can do
thanks mate thats the idea, i HAVE no defence!!
bmw are developing a system that does not start the car if it senses a high volume of alchohol in your breath
ridiculous.. if my car says im ok to drive then i should!! that cant be right!!
Good luck in court though mate, I sure you'd learnt your lesson and wasnt intentional.
cheers mate someone who realises the point of this thread
Rich
So none of you drive the day after going out? Not even the next evening??? Wtf lol
Probs shouldn't drive for a week or so after a messy night then lol
we all say we do it, my experience shows you are treated the same and are still breaking the law
Thats your opinions mine is if you need to go out in your car the next day dont get drunk the night before.
I dont think anybody truely realises the amount of ppl who get banned from next day driving even 12hours after they got home from drinking etc.
Even if a kid ran out infront of your car on accident and it was their fault and you couldnt react in time your still guna get breathalised and your credibility goes out the window even if you think your sober and there's enough alcohol still lingering in your system.
Its called MAD driving (morning after drinking)
thats a different approach you obviously put your licence in front of all other social events i admire this but i useually dont have my evenings that planned out! thanks for your opinion
The average waiting time to clear out the alcohol is 1 HOUR per UNIT. So you just need to keep an eye on how many units you consume and rack up the hours you need to wait.
"Average" waiting time? Is this for males or females? Does it take into account height/weight, amount of food/water consumed, and a whole bunch of other variables? I think if you did want to know how long it took your body to process alcohol, you should do what ted's suggested.
X2
I'm sure the OP was sincere in his efforts to avoid drink driving and I applaud him for trying to pass on his experience to others, what I really can't stand and think is deplorable is the attitude that it's all so unfair. The limit is set for a reason, the tests are accurate, the level of impairment at a given blood alcohol level is the same regardless of how much of a giant or midget you are.
There really is no getting around the fact that the test was failed, the law was broken and the relevant consequences will inevitably happen.
Free advice for the OP, there is absolutely no way (given what you've described) that you're going to 'defend' yourself successfully. You're going to be much better off acknowledging the undeniable facts of the matter, pleading guilty is going to get you some less severe punishment than trying to explain it away. Any lawyer worth a damn will tell you the same thing.
i have never said that what i have been given, and am awaiting for is, in any way, unfair. thanks for your opinion, this is what i am planning to do i understand i am in the wrong at the end of the day however i think intentional drink driving deserves a lot more disgrace and my case should be looked at with more disgression
Alot of people get caught the next
day even when you got a taxi
home the night before to do the
right thing by not drink driving.
What is the legal limit a pint? Well
thats what it is here it sounds
worse when people say things lke
twice the legal limit when an
actual fact its only two pints. Drunk
driving is a disgrace il agree. I do
have a pint of bulmers in a pub on
a tuesday watching the champions
league which I enjoy when its
over i get in my car and drive
home. Now before I get flamed Im
perfectly entitled to do this Im not
breaking any laws and im not
impared my reactions are still a
hundred times faster than any
pensioner thats on the road.
Maybe this is just an irish attitude
but if the law states at some stage
I cant have any drink at all then I
will abide by it.
well said
Pfft.
Anyways.. I studied the human body "for beauty therapy".. soo meh.
lol LOVE IT
just knew this thread would end up being one endless soapbox for those who never do anything wrong. if you could get back on topic, the guy posted up here about what he did wrong so others would think about it and not follow his actions.
someone should lock this thread up, serves no purpose.
Im my over all opinion, this should NEVER have been posted on here at all.
Not really a lot to say that has'nt already been said. Driving whilst intoxicated is something I'm strongly against (having lost a friend as a direct result), however given your story I do sympathise (sp) with you slightly. I think you should accept that you going to get banned and focus on explaining that your very sorry in court and that you were just not aware of being over the limit, as you clearly thought you'd left enough time and had enough to eat. Showing remorse I think is the only way your going to get a lighter punishment. Just learn from your mistakes.
People that say this should'nt have been posted on a public forum I would disagree with, this just raise peoples awareness and should hopefully swing people away from the idea that drinking water and a big breakfast will be effective, as clearly it does not work. I'm not making myself out to be an angel, this thread has certainly made me think about this issue.
THANKYOU FOR ALL OF YOUR COMMENTS AND I WILL WORK MY WAY THROUGH FOR THE REP SO IT IS ON ITS WAY.. AS HAS BEEN SAID I POSTED THIS TO ^^^^^^, I AM GLAD THAT A FEW PEOPLE HAVE LATCHED ON AND TAKEN SOMETHING FROM THIS I GUESS A MOD COULD CLOSE THIS NOW IF THEY WANT AS IT IS GETTING A BIT HEATED, CLEARLY A 'SOFT TOPIC'
ANYWAY IF ITS STILL HERE IL POST UP THE RESULT ON HERE OR IL POST IT THE THE CHILL OUT..
THANKS AGAIN, WASNT EXPECTING THIS MUCH RESPONSE :drive:
