if it does usually happen it's either a wrong account number given to the bank or you or it's the banks fcuk up, if it's your or the other parties fault then i'm afread you'll loose the money

what type of payment did you send it as

bacs?

chaps?

international?

i deal with banking as a job and wouldnt worry too much 90% of payments they can recall they just have to contact beneficarys bank and ask them to send the money back.

if its sent to the same bank they just ring the other branch and ask them to send it back again.

most of the time if its sent to the wrong account number its put into a holding account at the beneficarys bank while they try and allocate the funds if not they return it.
hope this helps

ive just looked at a customer copy of the money i sent...

the bank acc number and name is correct BUT one word in the persons address isnt correct??its only three letters..the name of the bank is all spot on two!would that typo mistake hold up the money?maybe the bank is holding the money waiting on a fone call maybe?????????

I've had money transfers (to a certain someone we all know and love in Sri Lanka) take up to 3 weeks before. My bank told me it was a delay on his bank's side but wouldn't comment further. Money got there in the end.

ive done it a couple of times, and the receiving bank sometimes takes a % of the total amount sent, or if intermediate banks are used they sometimes take an admin fee.

I had this problem and was never told about it from the bank, complained and got a refund
