We'l see ;) lol, maybe i was a bit out but nothin wrong with being optimistic :) Phaha! potential doesnt really bother me, if i wanted a car with good potential, i would have got an evo but the starlets the one for me!! had her for going on four years and still love it every time im in the drivers seat :)

Ahh mate they are great fun for sure.... This has turned into a discussion not relating to the point i first made.

Was only saying when people say you will miss the boost, what do they mean?? 170-220BHP?? or standard starlets?? Need to be specific because not everyone runs alot of boost/power and if not, is there much to be missed? From someone that has had/has powerful N/A cars and powerful turbo cars and driven an untold amount of different set up cars i really think not. Just my opinion :)

Just some strange advice gets blurted out and if i was inexperienced and listened to half the comments i really wouldn't be an individual. Try out yourself thats what i say instead of listening to people telling you that you will get bored even though they dont even know you, never met you etc.. Just strange thats all.

^^^ and there we have the OP's original question answered!!!

To each there own and if you are bored now what's wrong with a wee change its not like you can be less bored and you don't need a GT to be part of the GT club, just buy Dan's plate and put it on your type R lol

zero resolve

@Dan3SGTE & Iain@CRD: like i said, no single thing on the planet.. NONE.. will ever please everyone, in every way, everytime.. same goes for the starbo - some will love it. some will not mind it. some will hate it. so this string will never come to a common resolve.. :D hehehe

Firstly i wasnt comparing the 350z to the starlet i was comparing the starlet to a powerful N/A and used MY 350 as an example not your mates orange one as for some unknown reason my 350 is alot quicker then other ones ive compared to, not a bloody clue why but easy low 13 sec quarter, pisses on my old EK and evenly matched with my bros Dyno proven 320BHP Mapped evo 5 all the way to 150MPH then i start pulling on him!. So yeah not a slow one. I havent been in another 350 apart from mine.
I dont want to go into how my 350Z performs but she is fast and a few people on this forum would vouch ;) And the track model which they only sell in Europe weighs 1450 and mine is minus 60KG so weighs around 1390KG.. Power to weight ratio isnt always the answer proven so many times anyway.

I didnt mean a 220BHP starlet is poor, i just mean it does very little for me in terms of power delivery and really isnt that quick for what it should be down on paper.. Ive been in so so many set up starlets ints unreal so my opinion is pretty wide on this dude. And i didnt mean for a 1.3, im just criticizing a small engine i guess, and the 4E in general is pretty weak, compared to other engines out there anyway. For a 1.3 its very cool but the power delivery is empty compared to a larger engine even if your going as quickly, just feels like a small engine, which some like, fair enough :)

Thats cool about you thinking N/A are boring dude, your opinion, im sure you've got enough experience to know what you like, as i do at 25 and been driving for 8 years.

And yeah i do like the TD04 on the 4E, it works very well and is a nice turbo. Who is saying otherwise? Sorry if i offended anyone, thats not what my aim was, just giving my opinion from my experience :)

You didnt offend anyone at all, i just sometimes struggle to understand why i read so many posts from previous owners about how the Starlet is poor to other cars but yet there still a regular member of a Starlet owners club and come back to them? Suppose this adds to the reason ive held onto mine so long as they are still even today under-estimated.

Noone said the TD04 isent well suited to a 4E, my point was that you stated you wouldnt own a Starlet again as its too laggy, not enough grunt etc. I was using my car as a comparison as you didnt specify a particular setup so i assumed you where talking in general to all/most setups on a 4E.

Anyway Dan, as you say each to there own and everyone has there own opinion/experiences and this is what makes forums interesting.

Hell maybe ill go find a spare v-tach engine somewhere and put it in my Starlet to see what all this fuss is about ;)

Just thought i would chip my two pence worth in seen as i have owned ALOT of cars a few.. starlet gt, civic vti, 200sx s14a, fto, series 2 erst, r33 gtst thats just to name a few theres some variety there im sure you can appreciate that.

The best all round car i owned was my skyline, it was absolutely fantastic - was fast enough, driven superb and had plenty of room and was a nice place to be, the problem though was insurance and the general running costs started to bite hard!

civic vti, interior wise they are far far superior to a starlet or a glanza and the handling is miles better - but like stated you have to rev the tits off them to go anywhere and to me it became boring VERY quick having to do that all the time! they are also thirsty on fuel for what they are!

starlet, cheap tax/insurance and running costs.. sure the interior in a GT isnt a great place to be and i wont be going back there.. i think a glanza is an improvement and can be made to look a bit nicer. I dont understand why people want to claim the earth with a glanza or a starlet 180bhp in one of these is by far enough imo you can have some fun with it and with the right setup improve the handling to match! P4P theyr a great car that have a great following even though you dont see them everyday!
