built engine owners: max rpm?

i have a question for people who have built engines, and of course standalone fuel management... What's the max rpm you've run your engine to? my rpm cut is at 8000, but i usually change around 7400....

and what about 5E owners?

please, BUILT engine owners only. there's no reason talking about stock engines that have gone nuclear...

My limit on my built 4e is set at 7500 rpm.
Ive run it at 8000 rpm but for reliability, i set it at 7.5k

Usually change around 6 - 6.5k.

5e owners generally guessing try and keep the Rev Limit as low as possible as they are not quite as rev capable as the 4e engine due to the Length of the stroke.

However mine will be set at around 8000rpm to help me keep that Godzilla boosting

8200rpm limiter shifting at 7500 all day long:rockon:

and that was on standard 5efe rods ...now it will be a different story with some pauter and underbuckets

i know you asked for built blocks but on a stock block i would do close to 8000, with a few track days. Lasted over two years till it started excessive blow by. On a built block would depend exactly what you have done but up to 9K is not that hard to do.

Its pointless really running a stock block to 8, more than likely over reving the car and you would be more prone to throwing a rod aswell.

Also would you not have to change your valve springs etc in your head, or when you say built aga are you incorporating that this would be done also?

I guess youd be best see what rpm you stop making power at, so you know how far to rev your car, depends on the size of you turbo too i guess.

I do mine a different way, but i dont have a turbo in my car so its prob wont relate to your engines.
I set my limiter to about 500rpm after my peak power so when i change gear i fall back into my power range and not out of it.

does anybody have a dyno sheet that shows useable power up to 7500? cause thats the reason i dont rev my car high, the power drops after 7000, so its best to change the gear a bit after that...

If you have stock cams, then there is no need for more rpms...
Also have in mind 24m/sec, for those who knows about burning speed on fuel..

i reved mine 2 9500 but it started to flatten off at 9 so its useless..... i usually only rev it to like 5-6 but when i give it hell 9k all the way lol needs some cams and then it will make power to 9500 or 10.....

I don't have a standalone yet, so running with the emange blue on my built 5E I go to 7200rpm. Once I go standalone, I'll be going to 8000rpm.
