can someone please clear this up

Afternoon everyone, hoping you can help me once again please

spoke to 3 mechanics about my car and they all have different opinion

Sytoms this time are

will sometimes cut out on idle

White smoke hammering out of breather

Blue smoke out of exhuast

Done a compression test,2,3,4 are 160-170 ish number one is 80 psi

One mechanic seems to think a valve is bent

one says turbo seals ( WTF)

one says piston rings

Id like to add the car has had new piston rings, then the car was driven for a week, then this happend

since then its been parked up for a while

your input please

by the sounds of it sounds like piston rings or ring lands on number one, did you re-use the pistons or get 4 new ones?

piston and/or piston rings on number 1 cylinder.....rings either broken and/or piston cracked

hence all the back pressure form the breather and smoke from your exhaust

Ringlands damage or valve from your description. Only way to find out is to open pandora's box. Again.

Piston rings. Was any attention paid when the block was prepped before the new pistons went in? Probably still some scuffing in the liner/s..

If your block is worn Gav, your piston rings can catch on the wear ridge at the top of the stroke, could cause the ring to break :(.
