think weir getting somwhere here cause ive takin apart a good few ct9's now and most of them were very clogged up at oil seal on exhaust side... the oil was so caked where the seal is that it hardened up and made up a channel which wasnt letting oil into bearing resulting in bearing failure and shaft play.. seen this on 4 out of the 5 turbos i had and you could see that the turbine shaft itself were exposed to bad heat at the bearings cause of this..

yeah but the seals are the futhest point on the shaft, so the oil feed would pushes oil to the bearings before it gets to the seals, little confused to what your saying.

Not doubting your abilities but are you reballancing these turbo's after you strip and repair them? not saying your not doing a proper job but you don't appear to be the kind of operation that has a £25,000 turbocharger reballancing machine, and once that compressor comes off the turbine shaft you have to reballance it even if you don't change anything else.

ya i get them rebalanced professionally... what i mean is, around the bearing on exhaust side was so clogged up that the oil couldnt get in between shaft and bearing causing wear on bearing (shaft play) and over a period of time the seal would wear out cause of the unbalance

my thoughts exactly.. it was like mortar inside it. it was so hard to remove.. i actually thought i was removing bits of cast at first and all shafts suffered bad heat... one shaft was actually deformed.. it seemed to be really bad around small circlip that holds in bearing... i love working on them as they are a full day job.. so many parts.. hmmmmmm...lol
