no no codes. some guy told me that sometimes dizzy cap centre contact get stuck causing it to no start. is that trueIn that case I'd imagine the coolant temp sensor can ruled out.
Would be worth fitting a new fan switch to get the fan working properly though.
You getting any fault codes?
Worth a check.
Two 8mm bolts hold the cap on. Take it off and inspect the centre pin. Also the 4 tips on the cap itself can wear out so give them a look too.
You might find the rotor arm is worn too. They can crack with age.
Replacements aren't too expensive.
Never seen it affected by temperature before though.
Look what I found. So the temp sensor on the EP 91 isn’t on the thermostat cup. Is it on the back of front on the engine? I will double check later. I was trying to figure this out to see if the wires are connected to the engine loom and I have to be sure that the Corolla looms isn’t involved. If so then the issue is something else or some wire is corrupted.Actually yes - the camera angle threw me lol
That looks like the fan switch on the thermostat cup. Controls the fan operation, one wire connector. If you unplug it the fan should come on (Toyota safety feature).
Mine is like this one bud there is only one pin inside. Should there be two wires? I have to find this answer to understand that’s my boy didn’t do his job well. That's the earlier version of the coolant temp sensor. Should be two wires heading into it.
The first pic you showed is the later type, which is in the car?
Yes Asseri. That was also confirmed by a mechanic friend of mine I want to see yesterday. My question is when I turn the key I don’t hear the fuel pump but right after I crank and the engine doesn’t start I hear the fuel pump running for a couple of seconds. Is this the normal behavior it should have or did my guy wire the fuel pump incorrectly? today I will check the ECU water temp (hot/cold) sensor pinout to see if the signal is getting where it should and after I will decide what to do. I didn’t find any sensor for the replacement. Nothing on the web right now.You are getting somewhere now. The one wire plug is for the temperature gauge. The two wire plug is for the ECU temperature reading for cold start.
Thanks for clearing that upFuel pump doesn't prime until you crank so thats normal.
Good news. ThanksFuel pump doesn't prime until you crank so thats normal.
Great idea. Tomorrow I will test the sensor and Benchley use a resistor to see if the system works. I also have to try to pop off the pipes from the how to put fuel rail and from the four injectors. I will do it after the car has been parked for at least six hours. I am waiting for my mechanic to test the fuel pressure. He is quite busy so I have to wait next week. Not easy to find a fuel pressure gouge on the market and shipment takes ages.If you can not find a sensor then you can ask for someone to measure the resistance of the sensor on a colt engine and then you can just use the resistor in the place of the sensor for a test. Also did you try to use quick start/extra fuel in the intake?
Edit, use a 3000ohm resistor
