Alright folks,

So I sold my ep85 to a mate who plans to turbo it in the near future, told him to join the forum so that he can keep us up to date with the build! Going to miss it a lot as it's a cracking car, just fancied a change.

I wasnt going to get round to the turbo conversion so thought it deserved someone to see it through. Always wanted a mk4 R32 so when the opportunity came up to buy a minter, I took it!

2004 Mk4 R32 in deep pearl blue, 3 door, full black leather, cruise control, iPod connection, parrot kit. Car came with a full MOT, 4 brand new tyres, loads of history and receipts, only 63k miles, spare Audi tt wheels with winter tyres, spare suspension and other standard parts, brand new still in packaging LCR splitter.

Mods so far:

Non resonated Milltek Exhaust
Interior Light
Polo rear wiper
Sharan rear badge
iPod connection
Vagcom update
Front Plate Plinth Removed

Here is the car just before I got it:

Here it is again on the rolling road looking filthy!

First job was to give it a good clean inside and out, and fit the splitter:

R mats were properly cleaned and treated with 303 fabric guard:

Here are some of the detailing photos...got pretty lazy with the camera throughout so a lot of the polishing shots are missing!

Here is it as the start, still pretty clean:

Light swirling on most of the car, previous owner had kept it pretty good though.

Each corner jacked up, wheel removed, properly cleaned, tardis'd, rinsed, dried and sealed with 2 coats of Blackfire All metal sealant

Arches were scrubbed with super degreaser and various brushes, soaked in tardis, rinsed, then treated with aerospace 303

Foamed with Hyper wash:

Car was then rinsed off, washed with 2 bucket method and lambswool mitt with shampoo plus, then used Wolfs Decon Gel to remove and iron contamination, and tardis to remove any tar spots, then re washed and into the garage to be clayed and dried off.

Engine bay treated with aerospace 303 after a thorough clean:

Interior was cleaned with APC, mats had already been treated with fabric guard, carpets treated with fabricguard, plastics with werkstat satin pro, door shuts polished with prime strong and sealed with collinite wax, windows cleaned with auto finesse crystal, before being polished and sealed with nanolex premium, leather cleaned and balmed with raceglaze.

Exhaust tips were removed and cleaned with super degreaser, tardis and then wirewool’d and polished with autosol before being sealed with blackfire all metal sealant.

No polishing shots as mentioned above, but majority of the car was corrected with meguiars 105 with lake country even pressure polishing pad. Refined with meguiars 205 and lake country finishing pad.

Wheels got another coat of blackfire and tyres dressed:

I then did a full IPA wipedown, before applying the first coat of Wolfs body wrap, a second coat was applied the next day. I then began to layer up the paintwork with auto finesse tough coat, 4 coats of that were done in the end!

I would not have the patience for that! I spent 8 hours on my new car and got mocked badly enough for that too!

Good effort though.:)

That's some effort, it took me a day and a half to clean up my mum's RX8 at the weekend. One day on the road and it's fucking bogging again!
