ep91 4efte swap...timing issue

Hello everyone.
Well im the owner of a 99 ep91 starlet and i did the 4efte(gt)swap and im have issue with timing. Its stock on 10°. I press the gas to 4500 rpms and it doesnt move form 10° and is very lazy in lag. I got a big turbo so i have full boost around 4600 rpm at wot. It a HKS GT2530R with the chip header that sells on ebay.
When i did the swap i kept intact the big connector to the ecu(gt harness). The litle one i only conected the switchs batterie power. I didnt conect the diagnosis couse i didnt find the wiring diagram. I do have the check engine light when i start the engine and then off. Its working. I checked the IGT and IGF cables and they are ok.
10 degree in lag doesnt sound right to me.

Thanks.

Javier.

Faulty Distributor maybe? Try rotating distributor
forward or backwards then recheck timing
see if it advancing or retard timing.

Double check igt & igf to ecu with tester.
Swap ecu and igniter then recheck 1 at a time to rule stuff out.

I put other dist and no change. The distributor at center mark 0 degrees....full advance(up) goes to almoust 19 degrees. Thats no the problem. The problem is that the car is stupid slow in lag, from 700 rpm to 4000 (lag). So when i got my Innova timing light i checked the base timing. Left it in 10 degress and start to rev up to see how it sopoust to start advancing and i saw only 10 degrees over the hole band to 4000 rpm. No advencing at all. Thats no right. Can i be stock in diagnosis mode?.
I dont have the diagnosis wiring connected to the ecu so i cant see if i have a error code. I cant bridge E1 to ET1 eather.

If you don't have diagnostic port connected, you can still checked for error codes
As long as you have the lil 16 pin connector plugged in ecu. Just find pin 8 (TE1)
on the 16 pin plug And connect it to -ground E1 . E1 is main ecu ground and it also connects
to intake manifold on left side. Bridge those 2 to get to diagnostic mode.
Tht way you will get a fault code to diagnose problem easier.

Thanks sir.....will do.

Is there any ignition map or ignition chart to see what should spect to see when i rev up the engine in neutral???.

Thanks.

Not for the stock ecu map. It sounds like the ecu is locked in diagnostic mode and the timing is locked to 10 degrees. I dont know why you dont have the check engine light flashing all the time but the TPS and diagnostic plug wiring are where to start looking.

There is some good electrical drawings in the awesomely helpful section for the GT loom.

Thanks. i got code 12.....RPM. The other owner install a tercel cluster, but he took a independant line from the coil to the cluster. So, if the ecu is not getting rpm signal, could that makes the car get stock on 10°?. (pin 21 is wired)
I dont have the speed signal eather.
I moved the distributor all the way up and i got 19°. Then again if i rev up slow to 4000 rpm, its doesnt move from 19°.
I wired the tps to my apexi(PSW pin 17), and its in 4.96 volt at 0% and like 80% it goes to 0 volt. Is that correct?.

Thanks.

even my car has an rpm signal taken directly from the coil to the dash and its fine. no problems. if lag is the problem then u need to get ur car mapped. i guess its better if you go for an aftermarket piggy back or standalone ecu. my car was slow as hell with a garret GT28R. it was previously mapped for a TD04 on emanage with 440cc injectors. then i got a 3bar MAP sensor, 800cc injectors and switched to haltech sprint. now it has better response but theres abit of lag until it reaches 3500-4000 rpm. after that all hell breaks loose :D

I think it make sence....if you dont have the rpm signal to the ecu, how can the ecu adjust the ignition. Im gonna install some gound kit and check NE signal. Then how can i check the TPS?.

Hello again and thanks for help.
I pluged de avcr rpm signal to pin 21 NE and i only read 5560 rpm all the time. Then i pluged it in pin 7 IGF and it read fine until 4600 rpm....it doesnt go further. Should be do that?. Ill try plugging it in pin 6 IGT and see what happens.
Thanks.

I just realize that my igniter seems to be from other engine. It looks like a 4age igniter and coil. Can that be the problem?

For the on/off 2 pin TPS my apexi safc2 apexi shows similar - My undersatnding is the starlet idle between 4.9v - 5v is good and 0.0v at WOT is good which is what you have.
