Garrett M24 T25/28??

Hi all,

I got this turbo off my mates Civic D-series conversion and am trying to figure out wether its a t25 or a t28.

The reading on the comperssor side is:
Garrett M24 A/R80 1-1

The reading on the serial tag is:
471171-5003S
LF10395Z

The reading on the exhaust housing is:
449010-1
64
M3
79H MK

Anyone got any info on this? How will it sit on my 4EFTE?

Cheers :)

dont worry just googled the serial number and found:

471171-5003S Garrett GT2554R Ball bearing turbocharger:
- Oil & Water-cooled bearing system
- Smallest ball-bearing turbocharger available
- Internally wastegated turbine housing
- T25 turbine inlet flange
- Great size for applications with packaging constraints
- Ideal for smaller displacement engines making up to 270 BHP.
- Fitted with 1.0 bar acurator

Big Smiles!

I want this turbo :(
Should be like a TD04+-
Just have the turbo checked by a turbo rebuild shop before you go through the trouble to fit it.
A ball bearing turbo can be blown and you won't know it.

Yes they did. Very few Nissan SR20 engines and a few other cars. Mostly they come in twin turbo applications.
And I think you get twin GT2556R turbos on RB26

the factory nissan stuff was T25 and t28's not GT

GT denotes a next generation dual ball bearing turbocharger. the nissans used to older T range turbochargers which were oil journal based

you sure as the later s14's and s15 i've worked on did indeed have a T28 series turbocharger but it was journal bearing not Ball Bearing. Could tell by the oil feed line to it.

just goes to show that indeed experience is widespread. i like that Skalabala and Tim didn't get into a fuss over this and handled it like gentlemen.. :)
other times, people get all shouty and vulgur when on thinks they are right and are corrected.. :D
