i tried this with the gift wrapping on the rhd japan site but i still got stung lol. ive been caught a few times for things but sometimes things get though. ive neglected to pay a dhl invoice from ages ago and ive heard nothing back ahhaha :p

yeh, parcelforce have got my part haha, so i have to pay for it, paid online, they will deliver whilst im out, and will prob take it back there, and say i have to collect it lol

i bought my clutch fomr the usa and i got shafted on that, i go 78£ of charges :/ still worked out cheaper than anywhere else i could find one for though so all good really. just have to be prepaired

I did the same, i found out that because they go ahead and clear it through customs without asking you as the importer first whether you would like to clear the item that they can't legally enforce the invoice under the terms of shipment. although i think they have the lowest clearence fee by far if you pay it.

contrary to the way dhl operate, i think the £8 is quite decent in comparison to what i got charged, I'll try and hoke out my invoice for 8 dude, was only last week, must have put their prices up

I appears customs charges different rates, depending on the country and even depending on the worker that comes in contact with the customer package.

If anyone wishes to find out more information on import fees, please contact us ahead of time, and we could try to assist you in finding the information you need.

If you pay the VAT and duty you can ring Parcel Force that as you have paid the relevant taxrs due on it that they are witholding post, which is illegal. They may not be able to enforce the charge very well but they can send any future parcels back to the sender.

The DHL and Fedex way of invoicing after delivery came about from the way they used to charge business customers. When they introduced it to the public they never anticipated a mass refusal to pay.

how long did DHL and Fedex introduce it? Do you know of any cases where they have taken matters further? any plans on them changing it back to hte previous method?

I've never heard of a case against it. Unfortuantely it seems like something that is unavoidable.

IMO it is a cost of delivering the parcel and should be absorbed by the price paid to send it. Will never happen.

now maybe this is how its done, i dont know as ive not recieved goods from abroad before,

the value has been claimed is 5040 yen, which i believe is to be under the person to person gift allowance, but ive still be charged,

now surely the extra £10 is for the word gift to be ticked, and tha value claim?? or do the jap postage do this?? i expected some other sort of "gift" identity with the package, inside the package, there is my box, wrapped, but do the customs see this?? i dont understand the process more than anything?

if this is normal, then my apologies,

anyways, rant over(prob just pissed off cos i got an NIP today for 36 in 30, but this is a good release haha)

they take the amount it cost to post the item into consideration when charging VAT and duty mate, so £33+ the postage is what they work out how much they will charge you.
