Gt Turbo Future Classic?

Hi guys,
Just been wondering this for the last few days, I've owned my starlet for two months now, and I can remember finding it difficult to find a decent one, and on top of that reading that Japan is running out. So my question is will the value of gt's increase/ start to increase soon? Will they ever be a classic?
Also mine has a few rare parts on it, being a genuine toms body kit a trd dial cluster and some rare wheels, what does having them on the car do to the value now?

Value is down to how much someone else is willing to pay, have you been offered more than you paid for it ?
On the other hand we all hope these cars become classics :)

Just to be clear I have no intention of selling for a while! So no, no one has offered me anything! This was purely out of interest. Probably not the most sensible place to ask when the members will be enthusiasts about the car! ;)

classic

i'll keep mine until it's a classic.. :)
even if they stop producing parts for the 4e-chassis, with the way toyota makes interchangeable bits for their variants, i'm sure i'll be able to transplant lots of things to keep it running.. :D

I thought one of the main things that will go against it, is unless that person is in to cars it's very unlikely that they will have heard of it! Most people I speak to about it, I say I have a gt turbo and they say what's that? Never heard of it! Usually classics are quite well known, like mustangs etc
Which is a shame really, as they are such great cars! I'm 19 I brought my gt after I had been driving 10 months, I don't think you could go faster for less whilst still having affordable insurance.

Many people that I tell try to make out like they know what it is by saying "ohh nice", "bet thats fun" lol.
Hopefully they will be a classic to remember! :)

Over here you cannot import cars older than 5 years old. I get offers for far more than what the dealers would value it at, but I will not be able to buy another one. Mine is already a classic in my mind. 19 years old and I'm still loving it.

Won't reach classic status until there are less cars than enthusiasts. It will happen eventually as the 'Starlet Fever' is very hard to shake. Many old members will explain the smile that appears when their old EP is brought up in conversation.

I reckon a lot of the shite has to disappear before we see the same market environment that the Turbo S and KP have though. The strong will survive.

Don't worry, I'll tell you when it happens lol..

like Jay says theres far too much cheap crap about. i looked for months and months to find a mint gt in the end i gave up and bought something else.
when it does happen Jay will be sitting on a gold mine with all the ep's and parts he has!!

Hope you're doing well Jay.

The other problem is, there is no way of knowing how many are left. With them all being imported they don't show up on howmanyleft.com for example, and a lot of the time they won't be gt turbos on the log book anyway. Anyone know of any facts or figures?

I think the ones with Rare JDM Parts on them, like the Toms etc will be the classics.

That's a good question actually - I reckon a stock and standard example will be a rarer sight in the future and might even attract better market value over it's modified counterparts. Could be wrong of course but it's a nice thought!

Mines got the toms body kit, the front bumper is pretty tatty now, but I'm looking to fix it when I have some other bits sorted.

Agreed 100%. Now if only I could find a completely stock auto GT over here...one for fun and one for prosperity.

I think if you have got a Tom's Starlet it would be worth tidying up and spending some dollar on, If I was goin to buy an EP82 I would only be looking for a Tom's one as the parts are so expensive to buy from Japan now lol

Got myself a Tom's EP82, minus the spoiler, needs a lick of paint but what 18 year old car doesn't?
