dont think its fair to say that lads if it was on the other foot you would think differently, hes got wheels on order but theyve taken over 4 months to arrive so im sure thats pissing him off a great deal.

secondly every body may "lapse" in concentration.. but its people that cause the accidents that are at fault.

if the insurance company knew that he was performing a u-turn in a area specifically not allowed then it will automatically be his fault.

the person behind you probably didnt see the accident clearly and just thought u rear ended him instead of him actually slamming his brakes on etc.

good luck either way and hope you get a settlement out of the insurance

I've noticed no one knows the rules of the road nowadays turning when not allowed and I caught a cop reversing on to a main road the other day with a cue of traffic sat waiting! Unfortunately even though he was breaking the law if you hit from behind you were in the wrong as you were too close to stop in those conditions... At least your car isn't too bad it could have been much worse.

In all fairness i think toyota put good enough brakes and tyres(not great but good enough) to deal with everyday driving,my brakes hold me up 100% percent for town driving and id say his car weighs fuk all more than mine so i'd say a few inches in difference.

Don't blag him though, just be decent but get a proper job done..there's enough people like that without another one...

the tires i have now are terrible mate... so easily lock up in the dry...... I need my new wheels on and slap them brakes on... its getting silly... the brakes are REALLY bad.....

Im going to tell him i dont want to go through the insurance.... the damage is minor to be honest..... im needing a new spray job anyway so little scratches mean nothing really.... i have enough....

Sorry to hear, BUT i think someone wasnt paying attention.....

yeah i cant say your wrong....... i must of just looked by my side.... I do have nearly 5 NCB though so not like i have accidents everyday......

everyone has times they turn there head..... main thing was i obviously wasnt aware as you dont expect someone to slam there break on to do a U-turn where its states your not allowed..... he proper slammed them on......

Unlucky but unfortunately you are in the wrong automatically as you hit him from behind,so in the eyes of the insurance/law you are not paying attention to the road ahead and will fall into the general publics view as being a boy racer. Not saying you are a boy racer but thats how it's taken by joe public.
Think it's about time you sorted at least the wheels and tyres for some sensible sized ones.

If it goes to insurance make sure you get a foto of the site especialy the no U turn sign.Hope its sorted soon for you.

Protect your no claims when renewing insurance. ;)

Yeah i did know its your fault if you hit from behind BUT not when hes blatenly doing an illegal turn surely?

as for the wheels mate i ordered my new 16's with yokos about 6 months ago now... there 2 months late and also have a set of willwoods sitting in my room... so im well ahead mate just everything i order takes so fuckin long :(

yeah if he insists on going through insurance i will take photos and get witnesses......

Wasn't trying to be funny mate, but surely a cheap set of 16's with half decent tyres that'll then allow the brakes to be fitted would be better than the tiny ones on there now??????

Unfortunatly hitting someone from behind is almost always your fault as you should always leave enough gap to allow you to stop. The only case where i think it is possibly not your fault is if the person infront doesn't have working brake light.
Any glad it's not serious damage and hope you get it sorted trouble free.

nah i know you weren't being funny mate.....

ive got enough to pay for at the moment and i should be receiving my new wheels at the end of this month..... according to the seller.....

but yeah i should of bought some cheapies a while ago and saved myself a good few problems these little 14's have caused.... then again i expected my wheels to arrive a good few months ago....

sorry hear about it ! glad damage isnt too bad.

yeh like said above you will get blame hitting someone , despite the situation. Luckily mine didnt go through insurance either. Im sure he wont admit he was performing a U turn and im guessing he never finished and followed the monoevure through? :(

Sorry to hear about this mate. I know the feeling with muppets doing silly stuff. I'm not exactly old or well experienced in driving having only had my licence a couple of years, but some of the things people pull is a joke. There is certainly an evident lack of respect and due care in many drivers towards the potential danger of what driving is, i.e. essentially piloting a heavy chunk of metal at speed. Too many people seem to see driving as a chore that doesn't deserve their full concentration and effort, net result being these kind of accidents happen and the loser is often the guy or girl minding their own business :(

I know the dopey idiot that drove his securicor van into someone else, thereby shunting them into me and writing my last car off was of the above attitude. Losing months of claim free driving towards another years ncb because of someone elses stupidity isn't nice. I certainly know how pissed off I was when I lost 1/3 towards my next year because of the aforementioned accident !

I hope the guy does get back to you, or the situation just stays quiet and you don't have insurance issues, glad too that the damage was minor and hopefully won't be too big a deal to fix.

wounder mate, i experienced a similar problem a few years back.

going round onr of those large roundabouts that have traffic lights at each junctions, 4 up with a car full of DJ gear, when the woman in the car in front anchors up for the red lights that was meant for the slip road joining the roundabout. i had no chance (even though i saw what she did and braked) and ran into her. Shitty situation cos i knew i was in the right but it's proving it so i agreed to pay for her damage which was a bumper respray and replacement parking sensor.

my car came off much worse as the headlight area and slam panel took the impact as i was on the brakes.
