Hi guys.
ive got an ep82 and i recently bought a sera as well. im in the process of swapping both engines and plan to turbocharge the 5e and fix it to the starlet.

Anybody knows which tranny is better? the 5efhe or the 4efte? (manual)
Any difference in gear ratios?

plus is there a difference in 4e and 4efte gasket?
Here in SL there are plenty of engine overhaul kits for the 4E but 4efte are somewhat rare. 5A is abundant but not 5E. will the oil seals and gasket of the 4E be compatible with the 4efte and 5E?
iam gonna swap the pistons and turbo kit from my 4efte (starlet) to the 5efhe. So eventually my sera becomes 4efe and my starlet becomes 5efte.

any tips, guides n useful info guys?

i went thru that thread but it doesnt say anything about these.
btw i didnt get it. why O ring?
i also have a 4e engine+gbox lying around. its 4 speed though.
yeah i dont have time to get grease on my hands. my mechanic does the job for me. Dismantling and fixing one engine costs me USD 150.00 (labour charge only)
So two engines means im getin poorer by $300.00 :(

for some strange reason my 4efte (starlet) started overheating yesterday and today morning i popped the radiator cap to pour water and just started the car to check and found the gasket blown. gas bubbles were coming up 4rm the rad.. :/
so i'l be hitting 2 birds in 1 stone when i dismantle it :)

O-ring = head gasket is safer from abuse and lets you to use a cheeper than OEM gasket
O-ringing the block costs me R160 (+- $22) so it is more than worth it for me.
