Help Appreciated (Fuelling Problem)

Hi all.
I've just brought a Aem wideband brand new from aem.i was having fuelling problems so brought this to help.
First of my walbro fuel pump wines but only when engines on i no its normal noise but i thought it also would wine when the key is in the on position to build pressure.
When it idles its at 14.7 but when i turn my lights on it goes to 16.2.
I then go to accelerate and the gauge goes to red. I've set the fuel pressure to 3 bar with vacuum line of and running 0.7 bar on td04 turbo set-up.
If anyone has any information or help on how to fix or what’s wrong it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Lights on could drop your idle slightly, less fuel at less revs down there could lean it out a bit. When you say it goes to red do you mean it goes off the scale?

hi when i accelerate even slightly it goes red and about 16.2 on the read out.
I've set fuel pressure at 3bar with vac line of which is hi and still the same

when i brought it he said it had Been but im sure it hadn't i got it towed from Leeds to portsmouth cos it didn't run rite I've got a wideband now and set pressure wit vac line of

Hi ive tried to increase the pressure its still the same ive set the aem gauge to p4 setting and that didnt make any difference.
Now the engine management light is on with knock sensor issue

Take it to someone who knows what they are doing. No sense in blowing your motor

I would do a free air calibration of the sensor, check all the settings and try again. You should see a difference in AFRs when adjusting the pressure unless your FPR is not working right.

What code is the ecu throwing up, where did you install the wideband sensor and is your O2 sensor still connected ok?

Never used the AEM stuff so can't really comment on the setup side of things.

If you are tuning via fuel regulator you are limited to tuning for wide open throttle values. What it does at cruise and idle are a mere consequence. It's a crude way of doing it but it offers results.

AFR at WOT should be in the 11.5~11.8 area but a bit richer (11.0 for example) should offer safety. If it's not doing that (even for a brief second) you risk engine damage so it might be better to take it to someone with detcans and experience. Could end up expensive if you aren't 100% clued in on what should be happening.

Hi jay

thanks for the reply. I found out the hks fcd that was fitted to the car was not corrected properly. took that out it idles now at 14:7 and on boost it goes upto 10:2 then back town to 11:2 when I drive just normal it tends to be around 14:1 which i didn't thin was rite.fuel pressure gauge rises and drops very slightly on idle is this due to fuel pump. it drove fine for about and hour but then engine management light came on.Im still looking for a new knock sensor if anyone has one available.

That could be knock, it is possible if the connection was bad on the FCD that it induced a low fuelling situation and caused some damage. First step is to use a knock link device or even a set of det cans and someone who knows what to listen for and check for knock in the engine.

ok thanks I'll get it taken to the garage it only comes on now and again it goes of wen i switch engine of seems to fuel ok now 11:2 on boost and 13.9 on slow acceleration.
