From what i know it is a hybird (ct9 hybird) its the internals that are diff not the outer case which says ct9
but like i said thats from what i understand

he probably doesnt understand the terminology behind "hybrid" maybe his has better internals, rather than a mismatche turbine and compressor housing?

The original Kit1 turbos offered up by Syawal as hybrids were basically CT9s with internal work and a refurb.

That looks like it's had the intake blades changed to something more effective.

the compressor from the IHI turbos used in the fiat uno turbos fit nicely in the ct9 housing with no work, they look similar to that.
was gonna make a hybrid but its my mates compressor wheel so cant really nick it

more commonly known as "Hiflows" like the one in the ebay link.. same as ur g-specs lads.. a hybrid MUST have different housings for it to be a hybrid ;)

upgraded internals just make a turbo HIFLOW .. not hybrid ;)

EXACTLY

yeah as the word hybrid suggests its something that evolves from more than one item.. creating something new.. check with turbo places.. a turbo which has internals only done is a hiflow.. a hybrid MUST have one different housing to be a hybrid..

yep, aus & nz guys always separated those two types. while we were misscalling hiflow turbos as hybrids.
I remember a long topic about this one or two years ago.
JD/Syawal's kit 1 was a hiflow. Kit 2 was an hybrid.
Kitaro Gspecs is still an hiflow (even if it has some major change on the inlet)
