i had a simialar problem few years back mate, bought a car from a dealer worked fine for a few weeks, then the diff cracked. took it back they said it was my own fault as i had changed the wheels too a 17 instead of standard 15s. didn know much at the time as was only 18, but when i told me dad he went off on one said if they didn fix the problem as it was still covered under warranty that he would take them too court. an they said too me your lucky you got the car from us rather than a private seller, as YOU would have too pay for the repairs yourself.

in my opinion mate, dont feel bad, for all you know they guy who bought it off you could have been raggin the nuts out of it etc. just tell him the car was running fine when you was drivin it, an had no problems.

dont lose sleep over it man, good luck with it, let me know how you get on with it.

nothing to stop the guy upping the boost as soon as he got it and ruining it. and you cant bend valves on a starlet, its a non interference engine. sounds like bullshit to me

Agreed. He could have done anything to that car after you got it and just trying to blame you. If the test drive was fine, tell him to get lost

tell im 2 go fuk imself,if somethings wrong its now his problem.u never knew.plus things happen to us all.not planned so maybe he has been abusing it but not knowing how to do the warm up of the engine and stuff before giving it boost.

he should have had a mate with him who knew about the starlet engines or atleast about cars

so tell im 2 fuk imself:slap::shoot:

I once purchased a Fiat Coupe 20V Turbo with Ferrari bits all over the place, it ran fine for a day but then the oil pressure gauge started acting funny and the revs were dropping off and the car was stalling. I had the car booked into a garage to be checked over but the car didn't make it, the turbo blew, the engine blew, 20 valves bent etc etc, goes on.. I was gutted! I know the seller 100% knew of these issues that I missed but couldn't prove it and the car went onto making a whopping 357gbp on ebay in the end giving me a loss of about 2.5k! Terrible times!

I wouldnt say it was your fault mate. If it was running fine with no isues when you sold it then thats it.
What he has done with it since picking it up is down to him.
Keep your wallet in your pocket and tell him to jog on.
