Where the money is these days in ireland is tdi vw audi and the likes, i bet u if u started to buy and brake them u would make way more cash than u are now, and there is one thing i hate about them is the lads that put the exhaust systems on and that shit pooww noise i cant stand it no harm to them, thats where the money is man people is going tdi because the cant afford to drink petrol any more.

I have no idea how any of what you have posted is revelant to me,lol!

You asked was there a market for breaking big spec cars..i think triple j is just explaining that the market for breaking in ireland is more vag tdi rather than big spec cars

Then I think he just had to get the whole "poow" annoyance of his chest lol

ive just lost interest, working with cars all day,and coming home to sort another just isnt top of my priorities atm,and im emigrating at the end of the year.

Even if you finish it off (is that even possible? I'm sure the slippery slope is infinitely long!) what are you going to be left with? Most likely a car that you have no use for and also one that owes you more money than it already does. Personally I would start breaking it now with an aim to claw as much money back as possible before emigrating. Whatever is left before leaving, either give away to a needy home or let the scrap man have it.

If your not enjoying the car and there's little hope of seeing some enjoyment out of it in the near future, then your doing no one any justice by letting it sit there outside the house getting under your skin.

I don't ever like to see a good car go to waste, but sometimes you just need to know when to get out and recover as much of what you put in as you can.

depends on what stuff you have for braking most hate paying top dallor for stuff these days more hassle for idiots replying looking for stuff next to noting prices ,better to try sell it as a whole car

Put it in a corner and tackle it in the next decade JC. That's what I do lol.

Seriously though, even if you break the car you should put the shell somewhere out of the way. You've seen the amount of EP addicts that keep coming back even when they moved 'up'. You can always rebuild it at a later stage and relive your youth.

If i were in your position Johnny i would be doing as Tex says and starting to break now asking strong money for the parts as you have time on your side now not to accept the first offer that comes along.
If things are as bad as some people are making out might be worth spending the time to look into selling/posting the parts over here as good parts still seem to be selling for reasonable money.
Would also listen to Jay if your thinging about coming back any time soon maybe if you have room to dry store the shell you never know when you might want to come back think i managed about 5 years before i brought another starlet.

I'd end up buying another if I broke it,that's the problem.and im not stuck for money, that wouldn't be my reason for breaking, think I've just had enough of ploughing money and time into it,it's been parked up now for over a year and a half, and I'm starting to wonder will I ever finish it.deep down,I know I'd always regret it if I didn't.

I had mine sitting for over a year and then seriously considered just getting rid as I couldn't see the point in keeping it as I was drawn to practicality, then I got it back onto the road out of necessity as I had no car, the 0.5 bar td04 on a standard ecu was enough to make me spend a fortune haha.

If you are emigrating then break it as the money could be a lot more use even though you may not be stuck for cash.

Go with what Jay says and keep the shell though.
