What do you do?

I work as a network administrator for an insurance company, and also do a bit of IT support to home users on the side. Work with some good people, and we have pool tables! The last company I worked at was awful, complete slave drivers. Life is too short to deal with that on a daily basis.

Rewarding job but long hours and a considerable amount of responsibility and stress.

What do you do?

Im a technician dealing with sound and lighting working for the council in a venue,
can work really long hours, there has been some council cuts and there used to be 9 techs and now there is only 3 to look after a 2100 seat venue and a 730 seat theatre.
im paid 18k a year but quite alot of the time i work alot more than 37hrs a week, some weeks its more like 50-60 and has been 70 hours a week. we don't get paid any over time all we get is time off in loo.
i don't have to say much else for people to understand why i want a new job.:shoot:

Well I'm a full time carer for my parents mum got MS (multiple sclerosis) and my dad has loads of health problems aswell as having ausophageal cancer which is untreatable so that takes up most of my time and prevents me from getting a proper job aswell as havin severe IBS also. Without sounding harsh and morbid I cant wait to get working again. Thinking bout a driving job as I love driving

that may make you hate driving though. lots of people say i should do a job that involves working on cars, but then the enjoyment goes and it becomes boring and tedious. you dont want to do what you enjoy in your spare time as a job in most cases.

Im a HGV and bus mechanic I like the job, I service and repair the Hybrid buses that run in and around Leeds, mostly I do buses any thing from servicing which I hate with a passion its too much like robot work but I also get quite a lot of engine jobs too which normally 2 or 3 other people have worked on and I get to carry on with so most of the time is spent looking for parts that have been lost/miss placed but I still enjoy what I do. Plus its 4 on 4 off regular nights so I get loads of time to do other stuff too like spend most of my time at Race Dyno tuning ( rdt.tv ) and I get to work on some pretty impressive rally cars and over stuff too.
