i hav had my forged engine since november last year i get lots of lag when setting off from the lights if i dont hold the revs high before i release the clutch is this because of the low comp pistons or is coz of my huge front mount intercooler?

A certain amount of it will be down to the physical components but you should also add some info on your engine management. Like what it is and who set it up. It's all in the tune as they say lol.

You sure your dizy is set in the right place mate, somebody correct me if I'm wrong n if this will damage your engine but I was having the same problem you are now and I noticed my dizy was being held on by only 1 bolt not the 2, when I put another bolt in to hold in position I rotated it slightly and this changed the feel of pulling away power, give it a try, you can't move it much but a little made a big difference on mine

i never had any issues with my fmic being too big on my hybrid dude. is the hybrid new?

That's seriously low compression, that's about 100psi, standard compression should be around 160psi for a healthy engine. What pistons are you using? Headgasket thickness?

Your lag will be really bad if you have any probs with the exhaust manifold leaking/cracked or bad gaskets. FMIC would not make such a big difference. 100 PSI compression doesn't sound good to me at all... Is it how it was when you bought an engine?

It needs to be done on a warm engine and cranked for about 10 seconds with a wide open throttle. 2mm headgasket is a bit excessive for only a hybrid ct9 that won't help with the lag.

you need too leave it slighty longer dude maybe 3 or 4 seconds. im sure on of daves engines would be spot on, each time it trys turnng over the comp will go up untill its got no more.

Try it and find out, still not great compression though, only 116psi. I would look for atleast 9 bar on a low compression engine.

Spoke to guy i bought it off it was built that way by tm deveopements to handle 2bar of boost with no problems i just need to get rid of the 2mm basket and get thinner one to reduce lag and increase compression thanks everyone for your help
