Loud engine click

Ok lads so im going to pick up a new car later
Its a gt turbo and according to the lad it has a loud clicking noise from the engine
So fair enough i dont mind rolling my sleves up and getting suck in as i bought my last glanza with no engine
Does anyone have any idea what it could be ?
Heres the story with it, he blew a piston so he bought a n/a engine and used the bottom end
Im not sure if thats the best thing to do tbh as i hear the rods are weak in the n/a compared to the turbo
So it was running fine for 2 weeks when he was told the fuel pressure was to high then he had it turned down
While driving it let out a backfire and from then the clicking started
Any help would be awsome as i am still in too minds wether to buy it or not
Cheers guys

could be anything,

could be a bent valve, could be a bent rod, could be a piston with to much clearance etc etc etc

by the sounds of it, your opening up the engine whatever you do

As above mate, you would be risking detonation using the high compression bottom end so if he hasn't been careful then he could have done proper damage.
