Looking for a Glanza V

just joined the forum and nearly got myself a Glanza today. Am 24 years old and have owned quite a few cars in my days. But am now after a pocket rocket to accompany my next saloon diesal purchase. The glanza will be a weekend toy.
Went to view one today that was on the autotrader for £1750 - N reg
and the deal was to do a straight swap with my corsa 04 1.3cdti.
Anyway the car was an absolute bag of crap (not how the owner had mentioned it)
The gear knob fell off. Needed new rear shocks. Drivers door dented and starting to rush.
Exhaust was loose. Lights faded. Inside of windows badly scratched. Interior looked like it had been chewed on. Rear bumper all scuffed. Speedo not working. Car had extra 4k miles then advertised. Wind deflectors broken. Wiring on show. The list goes on.
Anyway i took it for a test drove and was really impressed with the power so think i will defo get one but would like to know what you owners would recommend me look out for. i am after the facelift version.

any hints and tips would be greatly appreciated.

if u want a well decent glanza fresh import contact murray at magnum but this will be expensive or buy a car off here or uksc cars that come for sale on the forums are generally well looked after etc anyway here is magnum motors

well lad welcome to the site...
if i wer u i wud buy a mint standard glanza!!!then do all the tuning ur self..cos u never know wats done to a 200 brake glanza that u buy and cud have the shit driven out of it!!!!
i brought my glanza bod standard runin 165 bhp now...im td04 it in few months!!!
check for smoke from the exhaust and oil in the engine,cracks on the manifold!!!!look under the arches!!!!and im not sayin that every big spec'd glanza is driven the shite out of!!just be careful wen viewing these big spec'd glanzas for cheap money!!!i looked at a 230 brake glanza for 2700 euro looked mint but engine was a reck!!!!!so went for a mint standard glanza and im modding it myself!!!!!!!!!

Cheers for the info guys. AdamB where abouts in oxford are you from.
The one i went to view was a lady owner who imported it. Guess she just couldnt look after cars. I would prefer a standard glanza but hard to find a mint one. i wouldnt mind a tuned glanza but would be happy gettin used to the small power first before i decide to hit the 200 mark.
Are the engines generally good on these cars. Ive only been looking at glanzas for about a week now so just trying to build my knowledge up at the mo.

they are a fucking dream wen kept well(serviced regualry etc)ive not had one engine trouble with mine!!!!!
there very reliable!!but they are bouncey!!!but are very lite and wen tuned to 200 mark they'd embaress alot of type r's and sirs!!!

one thing i realised when test driving the car was that it kept spinning when coming on boost through 1st and second.. is this normal even with good tyres and decent suspension.

em yeah tis kinda..my cousins 200 bhrake gt does dat!!!!and my glanza does it too///it notin too worry bout...bitta power in it thats all!!!!
you will catch on these glanzas and gts very quickly sure im only 16!!!and knw bit bout them...and people on here a great and will help you along the way!!!

Adam B never seen that V around, you say its forged, any receipts of that?

Sanchez, I've only had the car about a month, but me and my girlfriend have just found out shes pregnant, so the car needs to go, which is a real shame as I love the car to bits, hopefully I might be able to get one again in the future. Yes I do have reciepts for the forged engine, headgasket etc.

Well i am from Banbury not far from oxford. but in oxford alot of the time in temple cowley.

Ah right, im from Didcot mate. Seems to be alot of starlet owners popping up around this area now!

Just take your time when choosing one dude, dont want to by a bag of shite!!

If you have any questions about any you have seen, or not sure, just pop a thread up on here and people will point you in the right direction :D
