miles per gallon?

Just to make you all feel better I was getting 24mpg last month thanks to an exhaust blow out. Depressed me no end lol. Back up to the 30 mark now thankfully.

Getting 30 to 35 mixed very happy with that considering whats done to the car. Can seriously lower those numbers driving hard. The last spin I had before I moved away it made 20 liters disappear in a very very short period of time I wanted to make it a drive to remember though lol.

Your right there dude I dont think the back box has anything left inside it was making a strange noise when I was finished lol.

The Ep82 has a 40L tank so 8.8 gallon and the Ep91 has a 45L tank so 9.9 gallon

I can manage 600-650kms in my V to a full tank with mixed driving which is about 40mpg

I have no idea, how do you get such MPG on your car. You must be driving like a granddad? I mean I can probably get such MPG on the motorway doing 50 Mph all the way, but Mixed Driving, with some boost, no chance!!! My average mixed driving gives my around 250-300 Miles per tank, where is just the city driving gives me around 200 miles per tank.

I dont drive like a grandad at all but i dont drive like a lunatic either, my car isnt highly modded and its always serviced on time.
You would be surprised how good they can be on fuel if you dont drive like a complete plonk all the time, also it could be the fact that i always use higher octane fuel (99 ron) as apposed to the usual 95 ron stuff?

Well...i'm impressed with the fuel economy...but then i really did not buy it because of this?, anyway i put £20 in /V-power & got 200kms..that's decent.
The other day i was very low...almost on thin air, was forced in at the nearest Garage & put in there highest octane..which was 97RON BP.
I will try some Tesco's momentum...that's a decent price per litre
Mines a EP-91 btw & a Glanza -V.

I always use 99 RON as well, either Shell or Tesco. I don't drive like a maniac (only on the drag strip -)))) ), What mods/power have you got? What tyres, also your tyre pressure? What OIL do you use?

How do you know that EP-91 has a 45L tank? Did you measure it yourself? So far all we know that nobody ever managed to put over 41L in the EP-91...

Maxol E5 is 99 ron (or at least they say it is) i always use in my cars and have to say its much better than esso/topaz/tesco or any of that 95 ron crap.

90km for 10 quid is about what i get so about 40mpg

No idea what power my car is but mods are Apexi N1 cat back/Rx7 top mount and an Apexi air filter, tyres are Kumho ecsta sport ku31 at about 35 psi and i use Mobil super 2000 10w40 oil.

This site has info for nearly all jap cars and says what size the fuel tanks are http://www.cars-directory.net/specs/toyota/starlet/1997_12/4627/

Im sure if the tank was bone dry and filled to the max it would be 45L

I think there getting rid off that e5 real hard to get. Runs great on it alright but I think burns faster with the higher octane so less mpg I could be wrong.

Mileage x 4.5461 / litres equals mpg my dad is a truck driver so mpg is very important so that's what I was told.

That calculation is off and more like 34mpg if you bought your fuel at £1.35 per litre for example.

* HERE IS THE ISSUE HERE (not you in particular!) I find that many people don't know how to PROPERLY work out mpg so they either make a wrong calculation or just a complete guess.

I think that some of the figures posted on here are false and just plain guesses OR optimism.

Also a glanza fuel tank is 40 litres. Dont believe me? - i have a spare tank to filler cap and i tested it myself.

Farley,

Would you like to post you fuel tank reading in this thread
http://www.toyotagtturbo.com/forums...-capacity-fuel-left-when-bulb-lights-on/page4

May be put some pics up as well!

Considering that my car can do 70Mph in 2nd gear before hitting the red line - 2 gears would be enough for the UK, as the maximum speed limit here is 70 Mph -))))
