when i took my head off annd looked at the water jackets loads are blocked off on the actual gasket why is this would that not just cause it to over heat ????

if its stock OEM HG never worry about that

there is not many head gaskets that are open for the water ways and the later n/a engines dont have the water ways in the head. I think it is better them not having them in the head as the water jackets are only about 6mm away from where the holes are anyway so it makes the head that bit stronger not having all the extra holes in them.
