My Gearbox Is Wreaked Over Bad Oil

all you can do is double check everything you did and hope to find the mistake usually works for me

when i changed my clutch before started it up and the flywheel was watching on the steel flywheel guard so have a look for that

also make sure where you split the shafts from the hubs that the 3 circle shape bearings and in the hub and have new grease in them

then check your gearbox mounts are in place and that your back one espiecally

Take the shafts out of the inner cups and try it again, it takes the cv joints hubs and wheel bearings out of the equation.

Good idea to start with WeeJohn your the man i wanted to hear from, if its not the shafts what could it be it sounds like something is catching on rotation, when driving the noise goes when u give it throttle even a little, its the first clutch ive done too.

I will do its a new release bearing, my gearbox was perfect before i done the clutch, on the test drive the noise was not there

How did you align the clutch when you were putting it back on?

I might be miles off but if it's not aligned correctly would it knock off the bell housing??

I aligned it wit a bit of bar that fitted perfect, if it didnt align proper would the gearbox not of sorted it when it went on.

If the box is on a tight against the block its aligned. I am guessing its a CV joint, possible the inner one. The noise goes away when you drive it as the speed of the shaft is the same as the wheels and only the output shaft and diff in the box. Did you put more grease back into the boots when you refitted them?

I did put a little grease back in them,another thing is that i did find some shavings in the oil when i drained it out, the oil was very light

Ok i have the shafts out from gear box and the noise is still there, what else could it be

How do i do this to no that its fine, its nearly off once again,

The most you can do is check the splines,the release bearing and the fork lever.
You can check the oil seals where the cv's enter the gearbox.

Ok the gearbox is fucked, i have another its off a gt or cynos am not sure, i had to change over the inner cv joints on it because the was about 10mm in the difference from my own.

Its not even 5 days since i rebuilt my engine and put on new pressure plate and clutch plate. a friend of mine took it for a joy ride and in 10mins came back with the exact sound in triple j's video. used mobil multigrade engine oil for tranny. had used this before and never had problems.
its at my mechanic now and will be dismantling the gbox in the morning to check.
will the wheels from a 4EFE gbox fit if needed?

am not sure if it where the oil, i dont no to be honest, my box went as soon as the new clutch went in, i was thinking maybe the box had some slight weak spot in it and when it saw the new clutch it just collapsed after a little drive,

Thank god nothing major was wrong. by the time i reached the garage, my mechanic was refitting the gbox to the car. it didnt have to be dismantled because according to what he said,the clutch plate wasnt lined up properly. im guessing a loose pressure plate bolt or something. he said it was not seating properly. im running a 4 puck sprung clutch and 300bhp pressure plate from speedvision. i have posted a link below to the video of the sound.
Now shes up n running fine.
