Hi guys i am new to this, and after a lot of research and reading , i have finally decided to sign up today.
I needs some advise from you guys
I have a 96 Toyota Corolla that was previously a 130 2e but now has an heart of a starlet gt (4efte).
I have the following upgrades:
Fmic, td04l turbo, 550cc Subaru Injectors, Honda rad, Stand alone ecu(Dicktator Management ecu) bigger exhaust, 6.0bar bmw fuel pump external with a 3.0bar pick up pump in the tank, and of course modified header for the td04.
So my question is, can i safely run 1.2bar boost on this engine and make around 120-140 kw at the wheels?
Also note i have the standard 2e gearbox(which i assume is the c52) and i will be running on pump fuel only.
Purpose of the vehicle is to be a reliable street car that i can drag race from time to time.
Hi and thanks for the advise. But I don't think id be able to reach that power at the wheels with the standard ct9. Remember I said 120-140 kw at the wheels so I'm looking at like 160hp to 187hp at the wheels so like around 220bhp to 260bhpI mean...you can get that sort of power out of the CT9 with relatively low modifications. The performance would be better as well. And the reliability. If you're aiming for such low power then I'd say stick with the CT9, less strain on the engine trying to spool that bigger turbo.
But in otherwords, that shouldn't cause any reliability issues that I can think of, provided the AFRs are okay. I'd be more concerned whether the box can handle that strain.
