Panhard Rod

So just adjust the new one till its the same length as the stock one and swap em over?

That's a good starting point mate. It's what I did - turned out the Drivers side wheel was sticking out 8mm, so jacked it back up, removed the rod and wound it out 4mm. Refitted it and measured again.

Expect to have to adjust at least twice!

Some diagrams

Here's the rear axle diagram:

And a rough guide to why we use adjustable panhard ords:

Hope that helps!

Nice one Jay that helps alot, couldn't picture where the panhard rod would go. Also explains what it does and how pretty well. Might wanna put that up in the tutorials section mate. Cheers, Hutch.

*edit*
How to you know if your wheels are out of alignment and how can you tell how much by?

This just came to my mind, say its all sorted. BUT what happens if the rear added more weight, people sitting at the back etc?
would it go out again?

Yes. You've got the theory now mate.

It's all about setting the car up within parameters. The stock setup allows for this extra weight. Your modified setup will too provided the axle is in the same position. Some fine tuning might be needed but there's one way to find out.
