edit: just wna also say dane is veryyy good trader, its just unlucky i guess. just incase any1 though my comment was anti-dane. sum plonker has obviously messed with it inbetween. i have never heard a bad thing bout any of danes products :)

Dude as already said there is nothing we can do about it now, its a pitty it has happened but regardless of the race coating etc heat wrap whether told or not told to use can be fatal with manifolds.

Yes some might be fine and others might not be when using heat wrap, its nearly impossible to get each and every manifold perfect especially in the numbers i had made.

As said manifolds is probably one of the hardest areas to supply and i have had far more compliemnts on my manifolds than unhappy reports, i try my best to help out where i can and have never just told someone ''I CANT HELP YOU GET LOST'' i have always tried to assit where i can and within reason.

I hope this helps mate because this should not be turing into a slugging match etc as its pointless.

I wonder who is their right minds would heat wrap an already heat coated mani ?

And in any case of you dont know then there is a forum where everyone is friendly enough to answer your queries.

I guess next time manifolds are made then they have to come with "owners manuals" :p

i think far too many people chat shit on here and slate the lad for speaking his mind, he was wording us up on it, not blaming anyone for fuck sake.

Danes right its more than likely a bad batch, dont worry bout it.

i think a few people need to think about what they say before writing it on here, thats why this forum puts me off slightly, you write one thing and then you got all sorts of people having ago and basicly being cocks.

we are all still learning about cars etc, just back off having ago.

i bought one of these old batch manifolds and the exact same thing happened to me, the runner 4 completley cracked through and the welds in the had massive gaps in when cracked. No way was i going to weld it back up so i got a wepr one which looks so much more sturdy!

as sam said, no wonder people stay quiet on here, the public slating u recieve. As for heat wrapping the manifold, regardles of brand or batches, iv not read anywhere not to do it as it wil cause cracking etc. So maybe the traders should take this on board? Oh and ive only seen one type of coating last 6 mnths without flaking. End of day, it shouldnt of crackd in the first place, the welding on the colector, i cnt see how that has any revelence to the craking on the runner? End oe day tobiah has postd the experience with a trader and a product, i cnt see why so many people have got issues with that.

This thread shows just why so few people speak up about their experiences.

can u ellaborate on that? U mean because if u say Something out of place u get slated ?

Quite often yes

1. the racing coat shouldnt have disintegrated like that, even with heat rap.

2. The mani shouldn't have cracked like that after 3 months.

3. there is no mention any were not to heat wrap race coated manifolds.

From what i can see there is no better mani than the standard cast one, cant say i've seen too many of them crackin, and when they do they are usually well over 10 years old. From what i can see they cant expand and contract as much as the aftermarket ones, which are always (except the jam cast) made out of thinner material. At the end of the day to me it appears that the aftermarket mani's crack as a result of their expansion and contraction.
And before any one starts, i've been running an ej racing one for over a year and there's no cracks, so there well up to the job!

This thread shows just why so few people speak up about their experiences.

That is so true... ppl speak their experiences and other members attack them with theories (which most are the theories with no facts)

He was not blaming anyone... he was actually doing other members a favor and all he gets back is ignorance by the members he is trying to help.

So you got 3 months out of it?

My stainless one only lasted a month @ .85bar on a Tong Hybrid :

It was repaired locally and proceeded to crack again when tested on another car (my auto was off the road) :

It's currently on display for all visitors as a grim reminder of why not to buy unproven manifolds. It will not be in another car.

Before anyone grumbles this is merely firsthand feedback on a product - you take the good with the bad. For the record I'm not interested in a backhander to quieten down.
